i'm pondering it...it sounds intriguing...what can i expect? theatrics? avante garde? just plain whacky?

well, I haven't seen them live before...so I'm not sure what to expect....except for some crazy gypsy-punk music and some dancers on stage.

We saw them live at last year's Bumbershoot Festival. They were fun to sit and watch for 15 minutes, though I don't know if I could sit (or stand)through a whole show. Then again, the Black CAt sound will be better than the sound system they were using at Bumber.

they're awesome!  sort of like an eastern european pogues musically.  i've seen them twice.  once was a farily stripped down affair, but the singer went bananas.  last time they had an elaborate stage show complete w/ backup singers clad in slavic peasant gear.
 
 i've heard them described as busch gradens on acid.
