He's a stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
You can't privatize social security, Stupid fucking people will invest it badly, lose it, and we'll STILL have to pay to keep them alive when they get motherfucking old. We'll pay twice, but W will be dead by then, so what the hell does he care.
And it's the estate tax, not the death tax, you goddamn evil son of a bitch.
Yeah, and abstinence works. That's right. Oh my god, here he goes into the institution of marraige. "One of the most endurable institutions in history." It's about passing on property you GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKING ASS-EATING AWFUL HEINOUS PIECE OF SHIT GARBAGE.
"Our nation must defend the sanctity of marriage." He's talking about going to war....my god. "The same moral tradition that defends marriage" -- okay, so every divorced person is IMMORAL. Remember that. You said it. You motherf***,
Well, a 10-year old believes in him. That's something, right.
Moderators, if this is too profane, I'm sorry. I'm screaming alone here in my apartment and I have to vent. Take it down if you must. I feel.....not better, but vented.
-
This is why I purposely made other plans and did not watch the speech. I knew I would just start screaming and never stop. If we don't get this f*cking idiot out of office, I don't know what I'll do.
-
well done on actually being able to watch the state of the union - I'm hiding in my basement pretending its not happening (that and my wife gets really pissed off when I start screaming obscenities at the TV in front of our daughter)
-
i just got done watching the unrated version of old school :D
-
sorry i couldn't resist this one...
your one fuck over the line ;)
-
I knew I'd be insanely crazy, but I had to watch. I feel that if I'm going to rant and rave, I have to be informed on what he's seeing. It's the reason I tried to listen to Rush Limbaugh once -- it's hard to justify that you hate him if you've never listened.
Okay Dems, respond WELL PLLUU-UUEEEEEZZZZ
-
John Kerry sure does have nice hair...
And Nancy Pelozzi is definitely the hottest Nancy in DC, if not the hottest politician.

O CANADA , OUR HOME AND NATIVE LAND....
-
I didn't watch the State of the Union address because I know I would've flown into a rage and thrown a cinderblock through the TV screen. And what's the good of that?
The man's an asshole. Far more depressing is that the majority of Americans apparently go for his assholeness.

Uh oh. Newt Gingrich is on NBC as a talking head. It's possible things are gonna fly again in this apt.....
HEY, Jon Stewart's on now -- WAY makes up for Newt (especially since I didn't listen to him).

Well if ya'll didnt like the speech then i wouldnt suggest watching the elections either....LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

The two most important parts of the State of the Union:
1. Pro athletes must get off steroids, NOW!
2. We must start drug testing schoolchildren.
Thanks, ya big dumb drunken cokehead.

Don't count your eggs, my friend.
"When given a choice between an unnamed Democrat and Mr. Bush, 43 percent of the registered voters polled said they would vote for Mr. Bush, while 45 percent said they would vote for the Democrat."

I did get a laugh when he said "Key provisions of the Patriot Act are set to expire next year" and got some (unintentional I assume) applause.
And what the hell was Tom Brady doing there? As if I needed another reason to root for the Panthers.
-
Really, at times, I can't believe Bush has the balls to say or do a lot of the things he says or does. But this time, he has crossed the line, in my opinion. Having his speech run instead of 24 is over the line. Doesn't this idiot know what he's doing to me? I'm DYING here!

I'm sure he was thrilled to have his picture on TV when Bush started yelling "Stop steroid use now!"
-
i would vote for Tom Brady for president.
-
He looks like one of the slimy "hunks" from the new average joe series.
I'd vote for Peyton Manning, who looks more like a network administrator or John Edwards' younger brother, over Tom brady.

really?
I wonder if they'll be testing for Ritalin use...
Why must politico's from the right insist on living in the 50's. It wasn't completely the idyllic moral era that everyone wants to remember it as.
Isn't it ironic that the Equal Right Amendment couldn't be enacted. Yet I fear that an amendment to define marriage as being women and man would be a slam dunk, given all the bible belt states that would pass it in an heartbeat.
So much for freedom of choice...

Hey Samsonite, take a chill pill. The main goal of Bush's state of the union harangue was to inflame media junkies like yourself...apparently it worked, too!
Do you really think that having a Democrat will change anything? The only dem who would upset the balance is Sharpton. He would doubtless replace the secret sevice detail with his own 'fruit of islam' goons. That would really be must see TV. Pay-per-view even!

I'm surprised anybody watched the burbling idiot when Keen Eddie started on Bravo last night.
Keen Eddie v Dumb Dubya....no contest, oh and my wife says he's hot. (Eddie that is!)

The whole Temporary Worder Program really pisses me off too. He acts like he's doing all these poor Mexican immigrants a big favor by letting them work in the US under this new program. Really he's just providing his evil fucking big business cronies with a cheap, easily exploitable workforce.
Can't find any Americans to work in your factories for minimum wage? Have I got a solution for you!! How about a bunch of poor Mexicans? They'll do just about anything for next to nothing!

At least they're Christians.
Al Sharpton would doubtless ammend the constitution to "One Nation, Under Allah."
-
Oh yeah and abstinence in place of real sex ed. Yeah right. This is really working well in Texas.....teenage pregnancy and aids infection rates among teenagers are among the highest in the US.
-
I dunno, Flawd and I'm sure a few other board members don't seem to have trouble sticking to abstinence.

Newsflash Dupek........Al Sharpton is not Muslim...he's some kind of Christian. Pentecostal, I think. Hence the title "Reverend".
-
Exactly where does the good rev sharpton preach? Does he have a church? In what church can one hear the rev jesse preach?
Sharpton's already won. He's displaced his rival JJ as "civil rights leader."
-
My favorite part was early on when he repeatedly mentioned how it's America against the "Thugs and Killers" and then he proceeded to boast about the number of Iraqi and Al Queda leaders that the US has either captured or killed.
I guess killing is only bad if it's being done to you.
And how about a very sickly looking Ted Kennedy getting tons of airtime for his disbelieving, disapproving head shakes? Pretty funny stuff.
The whole thing is a joke - it's just an uncontested PR hour & it's the last one I'll watch.

So what's with the 'Fruit of Islam' (http://www.weirdrepublic.com/episode35.htm) bodyguards then? Last time I checked they were a part of Louis Farrah-Khan's Nation of Islam. The same Farrah-Khan who regularly jets around the globe to meet with his close friends, Saddam & Muammar.

The scary thing about living in DC is having to live in a city where 31% of the Dems voted for that nut Sharpton. Time to move to the burbs with the normal people.

I've no idea about the Fruit of Islam guys, other than the fact that aspects of Sharpton's agenda probably mirror that of many Islamic American leaders thus placing them all at the same place at the same time and on the same team. But I'm absolutely certain that Sharpton is not a Muslim.

thats a meaningless statistic - only one of the major candidates was even on the ballot (Dean, who won the primary) - if they had all been on the ballot Sharptons tally would have been much lower

oh, you mean with the normal people who keep reelecting Jim Moran?

So...the US didn't kill any innocent people in Irag or Afganistan?
and
You don't think our actions in the middle East and throughout the world are sometimes viewed as hostile or even terroristic?
I guess it's ok though because we're the US and you're an American - fuck 'em.
Me = dumb...maybe
You = closeminded, myopic and lemming-like...definitely
-
The U.S. doesn't deliberately target innocent people for the sake of instilling terror.
If an innocent person dies in an attack on an al qaeda compound, that is hardly equivalent to innocent people dying because their killers intend to kill them, such as at the world trade center.
and no, i don't agree with every aspect of U.S. foreign policy, but in no way can anything the U.S. does be equated to the 9/11 attacks. and nothing justifies those disgusting massacres.
-
So what absent candidate would Sharpton voters have voted for? Lieberman?
He got three times as much vote as Mosley Braun.
I don't know much about Moran, but he sounded good the one time i saw him speaking out against the war...

I agree with all of that.
But, what does that have to do with Irag? When was the last time Iraqis killed Americans (other than when they have been defending their country against the invading armies led by the Bush boys)?
He talked during the speech like he was giving a video game update. "We killed this many...we captured this one..." Then he'd give that little grin. Funny shit - this killing from the oval office.
Seriously - how many have the US killed in Iraq? 20,000...100,000...1,000,000?
It's no coincidence that he spent the first 1/2 hour trying to defend the war. It's amazing that he has gotten off this easy. He lied about the weapons trail; we found none; many Americans have died there (it will probably soon approach the 9/11 number); there's no end in sight; we created a whole entire generation of future terrorists that are going to grow up hating the US; and what did we accompish? We removed someone we didn't like from office. Or even more strangely, someone the current president's dad didn't like.
Just wait till you see what I do to one of my neighbors that I don't like! :D

He took a personal "loan" from a healthcare lobbyist a couple of days before voting on a healthcare bill. Only there was no interest on the "loan" and, by all appearances, it didn't look like the "loan" was ever intended to be paid back.
He also got a second mortgage on his house at a ridiculously low interest rate, despite the fact that he was essentially bankrupt. Coincidentally, about a week after receiving the mortgage, there was a vote that affected the bank that gave him the mortgage.
He's NoVa's answer to Marion Barry.

ggw, you forget about when moran beat up an 8 year old kid who was supposedly trying to jack him, when he had an all-out jerry springer style bash on his front lawn when wife met girlfriend, and when he said jews were to blame for the war in iraq. of course, his nose is naturally that hue of red.
-
J'Mal- At the root of terrorism is the wicked notion that innocent civilian life is expendable. Even according to AP, about 6000 civilians have been killed in Iraq. Yes they were killed deliberately. When you rain cruise missiles down on cities, you are deliberately killing civilians. Obviously the 9-11 plan was to take out the twin towers etc, that's no different than our "shock and awe" plan to blow up hundreds of buildings in Iraq, and we have no particular right to say the deaths we caused were incidental. Bush has no moral standing when it comes to the subject of terrorism; it turns my stomach every time he uses the word.
-
Takes a lot of charisma to compare a Jew to Hitler...
In 1987, black teenager Tawana Brawley claimed that six white law enforcement officers abducted and raped her. Those claims and others that her attackers had scrawled racial insults on her body and smeared her with feces were declared a hoax by a grand jury that also exonerated the man at the center of the accusations, then-assistant district attorney Steven Pagones.
Pagones was named as one of the attackers by Miss Brawley's advisers: Maddox, the Rev. Al Sharpton and lawyer C. Vernon Mason. While Miss Brawley refused to speak with authorities or the media, her advisers were soon making wild claims. Jury selection was supposed to have started for the Pagonesâ?? defamation lawsuit, seeking more than $150 million from Miss Brawleyâ??s three advisers when Maddox accused then-state Attorney General Robert Abrams of masturbating over photos of Miss Brawley. Sharpton compared Abrams, a Jew, to Adolf Hitler. All three linked then-Gov. Mario Cuomo to organized crime and the Ku Klux Klan.
But the grand jury within a year announced the story was a hoax and specifically cleared a Fishkill police officer and Pagones.

Well said (in my opinion).
Last night, he even used as a defense for the war, something like "diplomacy is useless unless you can back it up". Basically - show them we mean business. That's terrorism in my book.
-
Edbert --
nonsense. blowing up empty government buildings at night, when war has been announced for months, is very different than blowing up skyscrapers full of people at the start of the working day, for kicks.
you may believe the war in iraq was not just.
you may be right.
and it may be that part of why the war was unjust is that the civilian casualties did not justify the benefits of getting rid of saddam, although that's a dubious assertion, continuing saddam would have caused far more suffering to the same people.
all of that is different than saying that innocent iraqi civilians were targeted for death for the purpose of spreading fear.
-
Dude, you don't kill 6000 civilians if you only blow up empty government buildings! How do you think they died, suicide?

PHEW! That's okay then.
Do you also realize that most British deaths in Iraq have been Doodle on Brit?
-
Where do you get the wacky notion that shock and awe killed 6k civilians?
Also --
You are confusing the issue.
If the war was just, then the collateral damage, unfortunate as it is, 6k dead civilians, 60k dead civilians, is just as well. think of a just war -- how about ww2? the allies killed alot of innocent civilians. that doesn't mean the allies were equivalent to terrorists.
If the war was unjust, then the deaths of innocent civilians is unjust.
However, even in that latter scenario, the purpose of the war -- even if it is a bad purpose (oil, revenge, whatever you want to believe) -- was not to kill innocent civilians. And that is what differentiates it from terrorism.
As for the al qaeda deaths, which grotty first complained about but dropped, they unquestionably deserve to die and i hope we kill more of them. as many as possible. members of al qaeda are dedicated to killing us, after all. it would be irrational to want them to live.

Listen, I don't care for Moran, but I think the Jew/Iraq comment was taken out of context,.....I saw the interview on the news the day he said it and what I got from it was that it's Americas strong bias towards Israel in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict that caused Bush to act so swiftly and without any forethought in Iraq....and the jewish vote in the US had a lot to do with it...and I can't say I disagree with him, nobody can deny that the US is totally in bed with Israel and completely shafting the Palestinians on the issue.
Having said that, Moran is a Moron regardless.
-
J'Mal, the terrorist purpose isn't to kill civilians: every terrorist group has a political agenda as their purpose. Their method of pursuing that purpose is to blow up American stuff with civilians inside. Equivalently, our purpose was not to kill civilians in Iraq. Whatever our purpose was, our method of achieving it included blowing up stuff where there were Iraqi civilians
Wait a minute- I just checked my facts again and you guys are correct, the 6000 civilians actually got trampled by other Iraqis who were running out of nightclub doing a Brit-pop night! That makes more sense
-
edbert, your moral equivalence between war and terrorism is sick. do you really not understand the distinction between targeting innocent people, and conducting a war for a political objective, even where the political objective is unjust?
innocent people die in war. innocent people die in terrorist attacks. but that does NOT mean that war and terrorist attacks are the same thing.

but doesnt it bother you that the US didnt REALLY attack Iraq because of 9/11?? US attacked Iraq because they didnt like them, and Bush and pals wanted him out and to be able to establish of government to thier liking in the Middle East.
nothing to do with WMD or terrorism.
and if that doesnt bother you, does it bother you that they LIED about why they were attacking Iraq?
and please dont call it "war". In war, both sides are generally prepared and willing to fight. It was an attack. I am suprised Franks didnt start taking Iraqis lunch money.

Sure they did.
Coming into office, Bush was briefed by Clinton's people on the three potential threats to national security -- Iraq, North Korea, and al-Qaeda. Ignoring the last one bit us in the ass. No, there is not a direct connection between 9/11 and Iraq, but there was a lesson in 9/11 which was applicable to Iraq.

nothing to do with WMD or terrorism.
and if that doesnt bother you, does it bother you that they LIED about why they were attacking Iraq?
Pick up the latest Atlantic Monthly. There's a good article by Kenneth Pollack, who was on Clinton's National Security team and was in charge of designing the policy toward Iraq. He shows that everybody -- U.S., U.K., France, Russia, Germany, U.N. -- agreed that Iraq had (at the very minimum) an operational program for building WMD. He tells of meeting with the twenty most senior U.N. weapons inspectors and asking them if anybody disagreed with the belief that Iraq was operating a centrifuge and attempting to produce nuclear materials. Not a single inspector disagreed, and several of them asserted that Iraq was much further along than that.
A lot has been made of this Niger thing. Perhaps that was an overstatement. Perhaps it was an outright falsehood. It's such a small part of the larger case that it is inconsequential. The case for Iraq possessing a WMD program was built on much more than that single item.
It may turn out that the intelligence was all wrong. But everybody -- U.S., U.K., France, Russia, Germany, U.N.-- genuinely believed it at the time. If it were all faked, it's a global conspiracy.

Don't confuse the subject. A lot of things bother me about the war in iraq.
But that does not mean that the war in iraq is in any way similar to terrorism.

Good to see the Russian Army keeping busy:
MOSCOW, Russia -- Russian troops have retrieved 10 tons of beer trapped
under Siberian ice, the Itar-Tass news agency has reported.
The truck carrying the beer sank when trying to cross the frozen Irtysh
river, near the Siberian city of Omsk, around 2,200 km (1,400 miles)
from Moscow.
The driver and his partner managed to escape, leaving the beer-laden
truck.
The rescue team of six divers, 10 workers and a modified T-72 tank from
the Emergencies Ministry managed to save the load after a week-long
operation.
They pulled the truck to an ice hole, opened the doors, and managed to
pull out the kegs and bottles of beer.
But as they were ready to retrieve the truck, the rope tore, leaving
the truck on the bottom of the river, deputy head of the Cherlak
district administration Vasily Yatkovsky told Tass.
The Rosar brewery in Omsk, part of the Interbrew Belgian group, says it
is ready to take the beer back.
With temperatures around minus 27 degrees Celsius (minus 17 degrees
Fahrenheit) in the area, the brewery told Tass the beer was still in
good condition.
Tass quoted the brewery as saying it will sell the beer as a rarity,
but with a discount.

BTW, does anyone watch Whoopi? I love the little digs they always get in at Bush, his administration and right wing nutjobs in general.
It was a good one last night when the Iranian ("HE'S NOT AN ARAB") was wishing everyone happy "orange" day.

for some reason i was watching mtv, and one of their little news things came on. . and they have a "reporter" in iraq checking in on the entertainment scene there. well, this one report enquired about american movies and whatnot. turns out that there's quite a business for pirated movies. . .a couple of guys buy original vhs or dvd movies, copy them a couple of times, and then open a store where they either sell or rent those movies. they also open "arcades" and charge people to play on their playstation and whatnot.
they didn't seem all that terrified. . .now, if you mentioned hilary rosen, then that might have gotten them.

If the "overstatement" had occurred during the Clinton administration, the Republicans would have impeached him again.
Hey, I give the Reps cred on that -- they're relentless and the Dems are too disorganized to do any good with the Administration's weaknesses.

Rather Henry David Thoreau, don't you think? Jeffersonian, even.
