Can't wait for this one!
-
It has me hoping that the Foo Fighters show gets to us in September and has a shot at Merriweather rather than Patriot Center!!
-
I don't think that's a very good venue at all for this band.
-
Anybody see them last time they came to the DC-area? Were they any good?
-
Yeah I saw them at the Smith Center and while it was not without it's moments I thought it was lacking. The Detroit Cobras later that night at Iota were much better :D
-
i dunno it's the best large rock n' roll venue in the area... as opposed to DAR,etc. Get Pit tickets it will be like seeing them at the club. plus, i heard theres this little club on the grounds where awesome djs spin before the headliner comes on...
-
plus two dc dates were floated for them... which could mean that they do two shows at MPP and only sell pavallion seats, meaning a less traffic heading up 95
-
No presale?
Where's the fun in that?

innnnteresting ... i was wondering when they would tour again ... are they going to do a headlining club tour as well?
-
Well I got my tickets. First row!!!

Brendan Benson also?
-
shins might tip the balance for this show over sufjan stevens that night at the 9:30....tough call though
-

wow, i'm not a huge white stripes fan, but those two openers would be crazy
-
Ditto. But I still wouldn't go.

I'm not sure I would go either...I like the White Stripes just fine, but love the Shins and Brendan. WHy can't those 2 play at the 9:30 instead and the White Stripes get someone else to open? Sigh.

Yeah, I wasn't even considering going til I saw the Shins were opening. But I really want to see Sufjan. Missed the last show at Black cat
-

-
Is/was there a presale for this? (not begging for PW, just curious because I had not seen/heard of it)
Jason
-
if there was, i didn't get the email
maybe it was a white stripes website thing?
-
tickets go onsale sat, no mention of a presale at ticketmaster, nothing from the white stripes via email either yet...
-
looks like there was a presale afterall today
Jason
-
The White Stripes website is RIGHT NOW having a pre-sale. Just got general admission tickets! Go NOW if interested.
-
who guessed 10:07?
-
theres going to be a Canadian in the Orchestra Pit for this show!!!! :) :) :)
-
Woo hoo! GA Pit! It took several tries and refreshing, but I finally got it.
-
Are the Shins and Brenden Benson really opening? According to Pitchfork and the White Stripes own website, they're only listed as playing the show just before Merriweather...
-

the Shins have the Merriweather show listed on their site. I hope they are both opening, I just paid $97 for 2 tickets!
-
Ahhh...that's good news, since I was able to score GA Pit tickets. Not sure I can make it, but if I can, that will be awesome.

dang. it seems the pit tickets are sold out, and i can't see taking a day off work and driving to the moon otherwise... dang.
-
GA tickets sold out;
and i blew my birthday present on a stripes show in LA in august, sans the shins.
:(
looks like i'm gonna have to resort to last minute lawn seats for this one. i can't pull together any $$$
-
I gave up and bought the row P seats. I wouldn't mind seeing one show at Merriweather this summer, and maybe I can even get a designated driver in exchange for the second ticket. (hint hint?)
-
Uch, I got pulled into a meeting and though I dashed out at about 10:13, I only got row HH seats. Maybe I'll get GA or better in the general sale...?
-
I'm confused, are all the floor tickets GA and then they have the lawn tickets? Or are there some tickets that have seat #s on the floor?
-
like this:
STAGE
GA PIT
pavillion seating (with seat assignments)
GA LAWN

I got PIT tickets too. Lots of them ;)
Kosmo is so right on: Everyone down there will get to experience the show like it was in a small club.
Can we set up a little tent community around the 9:32 Bar?
-
woohooo Forum Party in the PIT!!!!!
-
This is for GramZilli:
Remember tho that is only a PRESALE.
It looks like all the good seats are gone for the PRESALE.
Don't fall for this Ticketmaster trick now - They release tickets in blocks.
At this point I'd wait until Saturday. There will be really good seats available again Saturday morning during the regular on sale @ 10.
Just be sure to get on there right away & use a fast computer. Keep trying until you get something you really like.
-
Just noticed that M. Ward is also opening. This isn't making my decision any easier. Probably still gonna stick with Sufjan that night.

Fuck! It just occured to me those two shows are on the same date. I bought tix to the White Stripes/Shins show, but I'd much rather go see Sufjan. :(

I know this has been asked before, but could someone give me specific directions of how to park at the mall across from Merriweather? From 95N. I'm sick of dealing with the Merriweather parking lot.

Alternate route from the Washington DC area:
Take DC Beltway 495 to I-95 North towards Baltimore.
Pass exit 38B, go two more exits.
Exit onto Route 100 West.
Proceed to Route 29 South.
Turn right onto South Entrance Road.
Turn right at first stop light.
Turn left into the mall at the next stop light
-
Any possibility of getting towed from that parking lot?

I doubt it. Last time I was at Merriweather they had a big sign that read "concert parking" at the entrance to the mall. They also had cops there before and after the show directing traffic into and out of the mall.
