Obama T-Shirt Sparks Assault, Lawsuit

A 25-year-old New York City graduate student is threatening to sue a T-Shirt designer after being assaulted for wearing one of his designs.
The woman bought a $69 shirt from Apollo Braun's Manhattan boutique that bore the words, "Obama is my slave." When she wore the shirt on Tuesday, four teenage girls accosted her - shoving her, pulling out her earphones, and spitting in her face, according to the New York edition of Metro News.
The unnamed woman is reportedly seeking solace by suing Braun - born Doron Braunshtein - for "all he's got," the designer claims. He, of course, is shirking any responsibility for the incident and says that the shirt reflects the views of "ordinary WASPs.
??For a lot of people, when they see Obama, they see a slave. People think America is not ready for a black president,? the Israeli-born designer said.
??I can??t stand Obama,? Braun says, but claims that it's not because the candidate is black. ??That??s the only thing I like about him. He opens the door for other minorities.?
??He reminds me of Adolf Hitler,? Braun explained, adding he does not like the Illinois senator because ??he is a Muslim? ?? a myth that Obama apparently cannot escape.
The designer has sold several other anti-Obama styles from his boutique, including shirts with slogans such as ??Jews Against Obama,? ??Obama = Hitler? and ??Who Killed Obama??

the deaf woman suing mcdonalds because she's deaf, and she can't use the drive thru. if i can't wear headphones while driving, because i won't "be able to safely hear my surroundings" then deaf people should not have licences.
what's next? "hi, i'm suing all movie theatres because i'm blind and i can't see the movies."
"i'm suing size 10 shoes, because my feet are size 12."
-
You gotta give him credit on the design, though.
Standard gray shirt with solid black impact letters? THis kid's going places...

She deserved a good arse-kicking for spending 69 buckaroos on a t-shirt.
-
no the designer needs one . . . for that hair. then the person who took the picture, for allowing that hair to be put on print.
-
she could have made that shirt herself for 10 bucks, and then had nobody to blame but her own dumdass.

I love this quote from the guy that is erecting these ridiculous billboards:
"I believe 9/11 could have been prevented if we'd had a Republican president at the time," Meehan said Wednesday on CNN's "American Morning."

this is the exact quote that SIR HC pointed out yesterday in the quote of the year thread. in typical wing nut revisionist history it's actually Clinton's fault that tragic event took place place and Bush gets a pass because he was only in office nine months at the time.

this was too easy....for the record 8th Consecutive year!!!

I have always thought that the terrorists obviously had planned this attack before bush was elected, however, decided not to carry it out on Clinton's watch because their goal was to get a big fat brutal military retalliation from it and Clinton was just not going to start a war....no matter what happened.
If 911 happened on Clinton's watch, he wouldnt have known about it for days and Gore would have simply denounced it "a blatant misuse of fossil fuels"

Unrepentant on Facebook? Expect jail time (http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/07/18/facebook.evidence.ap/index.html)
PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (AP) -- Two weeks after Joshua Lipton was charged in a drunken driving crash that seriously injured a woman, the 20-year-old college junior attended a Halloween party dressed as a prisoner. Pictures from the party showed him in a black-and-white striped shirt and an orange jumpsuit labeled "Jail Bird."
In the age of the Internet, it might not be hard to guess what happened to those pictures: Someone posted them on the social networking site Facebook. And that offered remarkable evidence for Jay Sullivan, the prosecutor handling Lipton's drunken-driving case.
Sullivan used the pictures to paint Lipton as an unrepentant partier who lived it up while his victim recovered in the hospital. A judge agreed, calling the pictures depraved when sentencing Lipton to two years in prison.

So in the end the outfit was correct.

No pass for this debacle. In fact, if I had some money to burn I'd take the second row of images and slap it up on a billboard near the other one. Doesn't even need type to go with it.

I have no idea why this picture makes me laugh.

I think he was trying to say if we had a republican who wasn't a total fucking moron.

without making any kind of political statement, isn't it common knowledge that our administration was asleep at the wheel in September of 2001, with the executive famously having taken off the entire month of August, ignoring or being oblivious to documented threats from al queda, and easing back into the rigours of office by reading to schoolchildren?? Isn't it known that the administration asserted no leadership despite having relevant intelligence?? isn't this understood by the public just like the fact that the Giants won the Super Bowl and the sun sets in the West??

i would watch what you say in this country partner. those are conspiracy nut job words, that mean you don't support the war, the troops or america. we haven't been attacked since 9/11; don't you know that? that's george bush. we kill them there sand fleas. that's george bush. we lie and get away with murder because the revolution of the sixties will never happen in this society . . . until the draft is reinstated when iranian shit hits the fan, and then we will see who is so patriotic.
and i love the fact that not one of the articles about the recent killing of teenagers in dc asks the simple question: what in the fuck are 13 year olds doing out wandering the streets of the death capital of america at two in the morning? you know, if a 13 year old goes into a lion's den at the zoo and get mauled and killed, it's a horrible tragedy of magnitude that beckons questions of how and why and what can be done to stop it . . . but on the street it is just another chance for a write up of no names given.
