me and all of my friends have been researching this for awhile...the reason tickets are so freaking expensive is because most of the venues incubus is playing at are at a more intimate setting. (all the places that aren't sold out at least.)i'm talking seating capacities of 3,ooo people or less at most of the places. we want tickets for the 9:30 club the most, and the capacity at the club is only 1200 people. so naturally they are not gonna be cheap! we've seen incubus several times and this will most definately be the best show since there won't be thousands and thousands of people there.

Tickets have not gone on sale for this show yet, the prices you are seeing are from brokers.
-
In other words, the broker prices are expensive because they want to rip you off as much as possible...not because they are playing an intimate setting. Tickets have not gone on sale so you have a chance to pay the normal price, which I think is in the $40 range.

wow. suggestions:
- draconian: junior members aren't allowed starting new threads
- technological: institute an automatic filter on the backend that prevents any thread containing certain keywords from being created (like, say, "incubus")

I like this idea, but a member's status should be based upon # of posts, # of visits and how long he or she has been a member. AFAIK, a member's status is now determined by how many posts he or she has made. If this is the case then a junior can simply make many bogus replies until his or her membership is upgraded.
But I bet this can't be done until there's a search function ;)

k....well anywho i just purchased 4 tickets on gotickets.com they were expensive but well worth it b/c you know its gonna sell out quick. good luck buying them for $50. see you at the show!
-
So you chose to get ripped off before tickets actually went on sale to the public?
The youth of today... <sigh>

Are you kidding? I love these threads! :)

You're really fucking retarded. Instead of at least trying to buy tickets when they go on sale, you pay through the nose to a scalper who doesn't have any tickets yet. Brilliant.
-
Well to be fair, there could've been a musictoday pre-sale or something. Still a retarded decision whether or not the broker actually has tickets, though.
-
Here's a tip to all the kids wanting Incubus tickets.
If you go downtown to Olsson's on 7th and D, or any Olsson's for that matter, get there at 9:50 or so, and have them get the tickets that way, RIGHT at 10:00.
I almost guarantee you'll get a ticket that way.

well, seeing how i live about 10hrs away, i had to do what i had to do to get tickets. my friends and i would DIE if we missed this show!! we weren't about to chance the show getting sold out since there aren't many tickets available for this venue.
-
I might have missed it, as i just registered on here, but can someone tell me when the tickets actually go on sale?
-
look at the other threads..

holy shit that's wild. what would be really interesting is if the broker can't get his hands on tix somehow. regardless, how much did you pay for a ticket?

1. your math is just silly, there playing 2 nights so the total amount of tickets for sale will be almost equivalent of venues that hold 2,500 or so.
2. brokers will be selling them after they actually go on sale too, you should have at least tried
3. your going to drive 10 hours to see incubus?
-
Does anyone know when they actually go on sale?
-
read the other thread "incubus tickets"

i realize that they are playing two seperate shows. a total of 2,500 fans that can attend... but that would be the smallest incubus concert i've personally ever been to, and like i said, my friends and i aren't going to miss this show! good friends of ours also live in D.C. whom we'll be visiting with and its all of our birthdays that weekend. the next closest venue would still be about 5 hours away. but yeah, we're die hard fans and really want to go to that particular show, so we don't mind shelling out the cash to MAKE SURE we get a ticket.

Except, you don't know if you actually have tickets since they were purchased through a broker. If they get "lost in the mail," you're SOL, whereas if you had waited and purchased them on your own, you'd have a bit more insurance behind you.
Meh, PT Barnum is alive and well.
-
Pray that the broker you bought the tickets from get tickets...otherwise, you are out of luck.

Wouldn't it just be hilarious if they don't sell out?

no it wouldn't - can you imagine how many more threads that would spawn? "just announced" would be pushed to the third page!
