Hey Bags et al, aren't they supposed to be playing at XM studios sometime in June? Someone hook me up! I'll even volunteer to sweep up the fingerpicks after the show
-
How do you get into these XM studio gigs anyway?
-
Usually the performers give XM a guestlist
-
i got into the romantics taping via being on thier email list... xm lets the bands announce the taping and bring the folks in, they themselves aren't involved in that part of the process. so i'd check the cheap trick website, get on thier list... one could always go their management.

I'm not in with Cheap Trick at all...hell, don't even have every album, but love the guys just the same. Hmmmm, maybe it's time to get XM (I was waiting for Howard Stern to migrate, but maybe I shouldn't wait....) ;)

I had a friend who worked at clothing store in Baltimore. She was chatting up a middle aged potential customer, and found out he was a musician from out of town.
She asked him, "Oh, are you with the Symphony?" and he replied rather confidently, "No, I'm in a rock band, you might have heard of us. We're called Cheap Trick."
My friend got all excited and said, "Of course I've heard of you guys." and proceded to launch into "My Sharona" for him.
He was a little bit annoyed.
True story.

Ha! Funny story.

That is hysterical. My dad was shopping in a jewelry store recently in Clearwater, Fla and discoverd he'd been sharing the counter with Frank Zappa (because the clerk told him when Zappa looked at a watch on the other side of the store -- my dad and Frank, both big ole watch whores). He told him, "my daughter in D.C. is a huge music fan, I'm sure she loves you." Only a father, right....

didn't you just put them in your top-10 list?
-

how recently, considering he died in 1993.

Dude -- you're right. I just called my Dad -- it was Alice Cooper!! My bad....funniest thing to my dad was that he was all decked out in "ugly black gear" and was looking at these fine Patek Phillipe watches...

A guy I work with was in California and went to play Pebble Beach with two other guys. It was a busy day and since they only had three in their group, the starter asked if they would mind if a single joined them. They said "no problem." The single turned out to be Cooper. He shot a 75.

Is that good or bad?
I'm sure you've all read my Cher story so won't bother posting it again.

I had a conversation on the phone with his bass player (or maybe it's guitar..?). He called my friend in Long Island while he was out and I had to take a message. It was a long and detailed thing about something involving the community association for the condos they (he and my friend) live in. Saw he and his wife a couple times drive by and we all waved to each other but didn't get a chance to actually meet in person beyond that. They know who I am from my friend, as they are friends but that's it. They are pretty good people.

Zander sang the Star Spangled Banner before tonight’s The Commanders game. It went as well as you might guess. You could say he threw out the first pitch.
