lol, funny d00d

I don't believe Tickets.com is at fault. Nor do I believe there are "special machines." If there were such a machine, you'd at least be able to find one somewhere. Google it - whatever, there are no special machines. I think they put very few tickets up for sale, and that's all there is to it. Complain about Tickets.com all you want, why would Ticketmaster be better? If the tickets aren't there, it doesn't matter what site they use.

Well damn why do you need to go confuse us all with facts and logic like that?

Sorry about that - all these threads that the brokers, or ticketing agents have something to do with it just seem so pointless. People have been getting shut out of events for years. Yes - brokers exploit things like fan club ticketing that are meant for the fans. But, if the tickets aren't there - they don't get them either. A lot of the pricing they're doing is on speculation they'll be able to find the tickets. Also, they make it their job. If you and I sat there all day long everyday, we'd get more tickets too. I called a broker for Blink 182 at the 930 years ago. They had one pair. No one had much more than that. Anyway - if there were something out there giving anyone a special advantage, don't you think it'd be marketed more. The people making that machine would want to turn a profit, wouldn't they?
-
I got tickets to the Thursday night show.. Although I'm a bit concerned about the new will call policy of meeting someone at the corner of Georgia and Florida. Was that tickets.com or tikcets.com hmmmm
-
Box seats. Comped.
-
Well there are already 3 pair on ebay!
-
3rd show added.

bingo.

So what if there are auctions on eBay. Someone managed to get tickets and want to use our system of free-enterprise to try to capitalize on it. All that shows is that there were some tickets to be had. There were probably very few. Calm down, don't bid his tickets up - and try again during the public sale. The club sells more than they are rated for to hot events (don't tell me you don't 9:30, I've seen it). There should be tickets available during the regular sale. If you don't get any, then it's up to you to decide if you want to pay more than face value, not the brokers.
-
WHAT THE FUCK!? I TRIED LIKE 50 FUCKING TIMES AND NOTHING!
fuck this place.
-
Damn people calm down. This was ONLY the presale. A SMALL percentage of tickets are sold via presale. Most tickets will be sold tomorrow.

Odds are those will fly off the shelves like wonka bars.
dammit. my friend got 2 tickets and I gave her the fucking password. this is some shit.
-
it isn't going to be any easier tomorrow. if anything, it will be a LOT harder. a lot of people didnt know about the presale, or didn't have the password.
-
Yes such programs (or machines as you call them) exist. Reading a captcha and scripting for ticket pulls is not amazingly difficult. You can't just Google for them though because a) they are technically illegal so its nothing something to be advertised blantly and b) if everyone has the program its effectiveness and thus relevance is reduced.
The way passwords are dessiminated for this place is a joke. Sending out a newsletter with the password all over the country is just plain stupid. Does Seth the Clueless really think Joe Bob in Poughkeepsie is really a big 9:30 club fan?
-
BTW - 9:30 used to use Ticketmaster. Don't expect them to go back any time soon. Ticketmaster is as flawed (more so in most cases) as any other ticketing agent. The 9:30 Club left them for a reason, whatever that reason was. So, this "when are they going to use Ticketmaster" whining isn't going to get them back on TM. Why would you want that anyway? So you could complain about Ticketmaster more? Try Ticketmaster for any other sale this summer during the concert season and see how much you like the results. In fact - you're better off with Tickets.com. Granted, this was an internet only sale. But, look at how many more outlets there are for TM over Tickets.com. Add those people to all of their phone operators, and the fact that their site can handle 1,400 transactions at any given moment... Well, 1,000 or so tickets for a 930 show aren't go last very long at that rate are they? At least with Tickets .com you're not dealing with as many retail outlets that can pull their tickets at the moment of sale, without having to wait for an internet browser to refresh.
-
My experience is the pub sales are even harder. If you didn't get tix today you are SOL tommorrow.

because people ONLY in the immediate washington DC/maryland area attend the club. i've gone to plenty of shows in New jersey, NYC, myrtle beach, etc. 930 isn't that far of a drive from NYC, and if i lived in NYC where every single show to come through sold out, i'd be at the club a lot more than i am.
quit trying to run teh fucking club. seth does a fantastic job, and its why 930 is not only one of hte best clubs on the east coast (if not hte country), but is also one of the most organized as far as online-things go.
you should see most clubs. its ridiculous.

and as far as as programs. yes, they aren't a myth. they exist. but about 5 brokers in the entire country have them. they cost tens of thousands, and only the gigantic brokers can afford them - and those guys aren't bothering with shows at the 9:30 Club, I can assure you.
plus, there isn't a program that can crack hte tickets.com CAPTCHA. it doesn't exist, so nobody on this board has anything to bitch about.
you either know how to use tickets.com and know the ins and outs, or you dont.
-
And how do you know so much about how the ticketing systems work in all the clubs on the East Coast. Oh yeah you are chokeychicken the TicketGod. When did you change your ebay handle.

i mean, that's pretty common knowledge around here. people know. it's not a secret. i'm not hiding anything. i don't really sell much on Ebay; i work mostly with previous clients and on other networks. do you think you're some kind of detective?
that doesn't make my contributions around here any less significant.
-
heres your contributions...
Cmon Seth ole boy - wake the fuck up

Wow all SEVEN of those ebay auctions posted by someone in Glen Allen are all of a sudden gone!
-
that's because the public sale isn't tomorrow, smart ass.
-
Face it Incubus sucks. Only people who give a rats ass about Incubus or would spend their hard earned money on them are prepubescent junior high schoolers and their parents who want to appease the whining crybabies. Enjoy the show with all the other losers.
-
Hey wait a minute... Did y'all know that Incubus is coming to the 930 club in January?
-
Does You_Be_Veronica like Incubus. Does Incubus travel by bus? If so, is their bus named The Incu -Bus? Enquiring minds want to know.
-
If the concerts are ½ as entertaining as these threads then they will kick ass...

i for one give a rats ass about them. they're freaking awesome! my friends and i have all been huge fans for years. and we're not high schoolers, we're hard working adults. i'm glad we got our 4 tickets and will be attending the show!
-
could someone PM me the password?? :(
-
just looked again, tix still available... something must be wrong, i suspect that the system is releasing too many tickets (why is it still asking for the presale password? presale ended yesterday!). there has got to be demand for more than 2000 tickets, no? who knows, maybe not! awesome if that's the case, plenty of scalpers will be disappointed :D
get'em while you can, at worse you'll get a refund.
-
Maybe they are tickets confiscated from ebay yesterday?
Or maybe it's just a good ol' fashioned f$%k up!
-
Huh, that was easy. Should I be at all worried that my order won't go through since it's not the "official" pre-sale or regular sale?
-
Let's hope it works!!
Thank you for PMing the pword. Much appreciated!
-
Thanks for the help, Just got a ticket to Friday night!
-
I got a couple for Saturday - now they're all gone. They probably just wanted to get shifty like this to put more tickets in the hands of fans, as opposed to resellers. I bet it worked by the sounds of this thread.

I guarantee you that vansmack in San Francisco is a bigger 9:30 club fan than you'll ever be.
