Title: Seeking new bands
Post by: joeavrage on April 14, 2005, 05:06:00 pm
Please post names of new bands for me to listen to here: I prefer bands which are 'awesome', but I can also do 'great' and 'super'.

Today I'm enjoying  The Cloud Room (http://www.thecloudroom.com). Kosmo, I think you would like their song "Hey Now Now."

Sparx - was that your own list or did you grab it from somewhere? Full disclosure, please  :)

Serious shout out for Stars. They're on the same label as Broken Social Scene and there are some similarities (they often work together). They'll be opening for Ivy at the Black Cat in a few weeks. The music has an easy, laid back vibe to it but the lyrics can be pretty bitter and hard edged. There's a bit of the Smiths in their music but it really goes beyond that.

You can check out their music at http://www.arts-crafts.ca/stars/ (http://www.arts-crafts.ca/stars/)
