Did anyone go to the show last night?
-
Nope.
-
Is he still alive?
No wait!
The correct reply should have been: How about those maracas & sitars, eh? Cellos rawk! Dave has discovered an obscue tribe from Irian Jaya who play music by banging oyster shells together.
How about those oysters!
I'm glad the talking heads didn't reunite...

i went to the show in annapolis last week, but no birchmeres for me.

Only $50 a ticket at the Birchmere. And for more money, you can get the yummmmmy  Birchmere food (which you're forced to do given their show times and seating policy).

Okay, the shushmere is a freakin goldmine, yet nobody, me included, can stand the place.
Two questions,
Do any board members actually like the place.
How can it possibly stay in business if the only folk who, like myself, go because we absolutely have to see the band so will put up with the place once in a blue moon. Their bookings don't seem that strong to draw that many reluctant patrons.

I don't mind the place at all, always has great sound and I think people tend to overreact to their policies.

I was being my usual sarcastic self. Overall, I like the place. I like being able to sit down, I like the lack of cigarette smoke. I like the no talking rule when the bands are playing. I like that they don't start shows at hours that are past my bedtime. I like that they have free parking.
My only (minor) quibbles are the at-the-door service charge, and the too early starting times that require one to eat their food.

They don't have much in the way for vegetarians, either.
The old Birchmere was more fun...more of a dive with cheap beer.
I would have much preferred Byrne to be at 9:30 again...the show a couple years ago was awesome (and like $20 cheaper).

i know he was scheduled for 3 nights, did he even sell any of them out with a $50 ticket fee? i skipped it because of the price.
-
I don't think any of them are sold out.
