Creed Guitarist Says Band Broke Up Months Ago
The biggest rock band of the past decade has broken up.
After nearly 10 years together and more than 24 million albums sold, Creed have decided to put an end to their string of multiplatinum records and chart-topping singles. The choice was made months ago, when guitarist Mark Tremonti and singer Scott Stapp reconvened after a yearlong hiatus and ran into problems.
"We had gotten together two or three times and nothing happened," Tremonti explained. "We got our instruments and played, but neither of us was taking it seriously. We were just running in circles. There wasn't a vibe like on the previous records. It felt very joblike. We knew that it would take us years to get a record out."
The trouble wasn't that the collaborative couple â?? Tremonti was responsible for the music, Stapp for the lyrics â?? were clashing creatively. Personal issues, mostly between Stapp and the rest of Creed, caused an irreparable rift that ultimately led to the band's demise.

wept with joy!!!!
I blame The Wrens for Creed's success.

I'm so depressed!
I think I'll hang out behind CURVES and try to pick up some hefty Christian women...my "promise keepers, losers weepers" line works every time.

Is this the day music died?

My Friday just keeps getting better!

First Phish, now this?
I'm not sure if I can take much more of this....

yeah what happens if the pixies disband at the end of their cash grab i mean tour ;)

the difference between the Pixies and Creed of course is that they have talent...and they never cashed in to begin with. As a Pixies fan, I couldn't give a damn if it's about the money. All I care about is that they come out, play their songs WELL, and even if they have to put on fake smiles that's cool by me. I'm enjoying every second of them on that stage because I thought hell would freeze over before they ever got back together. So even if they do break up, at least I've got some cool memories of seeing them play some of my favorite songs again!

The "It's not about the money" line is the biggest crock of bullshit I've ever heard. Of course it's about the money, the only bands that say it's not are the bands that can't make it...........period. I like those bands also but can't stand it when that line is used.
