I'd like to go, both for We Are Scientists and Oxford Collapse, but I have a big meeting tomorrow morning.
-
I'll be there but it'll be hard to top the Sonar show in January.
-
oxford collapse really stole that show.

Excellent show as always from WAS. I loved the opening with the perfectly timed segue from the Phil Collins' "Against All Odds" intro music to them covering the same in mid-song. Just stellar.
Overall, I probably enjoyed their Black Cat show on June 26th a little more than last night and more than the Sonar show in January, which suffered from poor sound. The audience was a little more into it at the June show, I think. Last night's audience didn't even bother applauding at the end of the show. I think we could have got an encore.
I gather they're heading into the studio to record their follow-up album next. Hope it's good. Looking forward to it.
I really liked The Grates, even though it seemed most of the audience didn't. Perhaps a bit too unconventional? Anyway, I thought they rocked, and I purchased their album.
Oxford Collapse was a good opener. Not particularly impressive, but good though. Pretty solid line-up all around.

i actually liked this show better than the earlier one. i was suprised at the abrupt ending, but i think that's just because i'm used to the forced encores we see these days. so, in retropect it was a fitting end.

the set length was short(only 1 hour), but they put on a great show

WAS is a certain fun night out, they always put on an entertaining show. I like how they transition between songs without stopping. And the banter is funny.
I hope they have some good songs written for a second album, though the couple of unfamiliar songs I heard weren't as catchy as the stuff on their debut.

i already saw WAS i was there to see The Grates, who were fucking awesome, but WAS are always fun to see.
