i'm really tempted to get tickets...
not a uhge fan or anything, but why not?
-
YEAH! Got the soft sale e-mail blurb but the link doesn't work. Help!
-
I'm just going to pray that i get tickets. they were so much fun the last time they came to the club...
-
Let's see who they have opening up the show.
-
So, the answer is no.
Nobody is excited.
-
its in march, no? i suppose if i was getting excited 3 months in advance for a thursday night Scissor Sisters concert in DC i would feel pretty lame.
perhaps after christmas, new years, mlk day, valentines day and presidents day i will be excited about the coming of the Scissor Sisters!

Their website said the pre-sale had ended.
We'll have to see what the schedule looks like for March if we're going to attend.

I'd like to go but 35 bucks plus service charges isn't cheap, and of course I'd be buying my girlfriends ticket. I'm sure it will sellout, but if it doesn't and it gets closer to the show I may buy tickets.
I had been debating on buying tickets for this show or the Michael Franti/Spearhead show. Franti won, I haven't seen him in about ten years, it cheaper, and its on a Friday night.
-
March 4 is a Sunday not a Thursday

one thing that helps is buying your tickets at the club box office - $1 service charge instead of tickets.com's big surcharges.

im going to a party in DC tonight i might stop by the box office and pick up a pair.
-
When I'm down at the club for a show I do buy tickets for other shows to save on the service charges but I'm not going to any shows at 9:30 in the near future.
Can you buy tickets for 9:30 at other tickets.com venues like GMU center for the arts?
-
i'm not.
-
They made nice sleepy time music as I napped in the grass at Virgin Fest.
-
Can't get excited...$3.50 plus service charge is way to much for Scissor Sisters.

i agree 100% - and they're actually charging ten times as much!!!
those hacks are worth a buck, maybe $1.50 tops.
-
i spent $12 on my first SS concert (before they released their first album)...now it's really expensive heh
-
i ended up getting super trashed last night and didn't get tickets.
My friend said that "in all they have like...5 good songs and the rest blow."
Dunno what to do! tickets are still on sale...

Wow, your friend is crazy. They have SOOOOO many good songs. Off the top of my head right now... She's My Man, I Can't Decide, Mary, Return To Oz, Tits On The Radio, Kiss You Off, Lights, Land Of A Thousand Words, Ooh, Laura, Take Your Mama, etc...
They're a great band, real muscians, they're a REAL live band. Totally un-manufactured.
And regarding the price being 35...I think that's actually a really freakin' sweet deal. Considering they won basically every major award last year at the Brits (basically the Euro Grammys), and the fact that their new album and singles are doing incredibly well (in the UK the album and single were both #1 together, for a couple weeks). I would have paid 100 to see them.

I'll sell my tickets to you for $95 a pop, saving you $5 a ticket. PM me!

the thing is theyre not really my kind of band, but im really interested in seeing them. Tickets are still on sale, so maybe after Christmas ill make up my mind. if it was 20 bucks id totally go see them, 35 is a little steep for me.
And i know theyre huge in Europe, im kind of surprised it hasnt sold out like teh Arctic Monkeys did.
-
Well if you do decide to go, I know you'll have a great time! Even if by some freak thing you only care for half of the songs, they are GREAT performers, and put on a great show. From what I've seen, they're fairly interactive, and always have fun stuff to say!
-
hang on, so did is the show sold-out yet? or is that just the presale???
-
it looks like all tickets are sold out.
-
I may never forgive them for the god awful cover of "comfortably numb"
-
i thought that cover was kinda cool, very tongue in cheek. fits in with their general esthetic. but maybe i've heard too many bar bands do a straight-up note-for-note cover, which never works...
