I'm a bit confused on this. There is no date on the 930 club website about the wilco date of october 19. But Wilco's offical page does. It states that the pre-sale for the tickets are sept.13, then how did the pre-sale get sold out already ? Can anyone help me on this ?
OCT-19 WASHINGTON DC 9:30 SEP-13
WILCO Pre-Sale begins Wednesday, September 13 @ 10 a.m. via WILCO TICKETS.
Public On Sale begins Thursday, September 14 @ 10 a.m. via Tickets.com.

There was a presale for people who signed up via snail mail newsletter...the Wilco presale via musictoday will be next week. There is a separate allocation for that.

nice. would have sucked if i were interested in this.
my newsletter arrived today (the 7th) with the password for the presale yesterday (the 6th).

It sold out in about 5 seconds anyway. I somehow managed to get a ticket.

actually it didn't - took about 15 minutes, so pretty much anyone who tried was able to get a ticket (see http://www.930.com/cgi-bin/ubb-cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=013745 (http://www.930.com/cgi-bin/ubb-cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=013745) for more on the topic). thus your tickets isn't such a miracle :)
i wonder if there will be any tickets left for public onsale, or if this show will sell out via presale only?
-
It felt like five minutes.
I didn't have my stopwatch on me, sorry.
-
sweetcell, *sigh*
Not all tickets are sold via presales...why would there even be a public onsale if they'd sell all of tickets on presales?? :)

Pretty sure there are only a certain number of tickets that get sold at the presales and that a sellout never occurs prior to the public sale.
-
The public on sale date is so the scalpers can get in and swoop up all the remaining tickets.
Duh?
-
because scalpers have special super powers that give them a special advantages over everybody else in high profile public onsales.

ok... you originally wrote "5 seconds", i.e. implying it was pretty much instantaneous :)

as far as i know (which isn't very far at all) nothing prevents a venue from allocating all tickets to the presale... what lead me to think this might be the case was the wording in the Volume flyer: "secret subscriber show". my over-active imagination thought this might be like the last foos show, where all tickets were sold via password. my bad.

You guys are just confusing people.
-
confusing them about what?
-
Jesus buttfucking christ.
I was just saying that it went by fast.
It's a figure of speech.

Yeah, if you call multiple computer terminals trying all at the same time to get tix against your one computer, yes its a special power.
-
who's on first?
-
third base!
-
third base is on first?
cooler, you're right - it is getting confusing in here. pass the nitrous.
