ok, after all this hubbub i hear from football (NFL) fans that their sport is way cooler and the fans are better and how much strategy is involved (just kidding) you people are some real peices of work yourselves!!!!
this year i got a part time job at M&T Bank stadium for Ravens home games, just for the hell of it, i can walk over there now....and last night was the biggest display of "get a life" i think i may have ever seen!!!!
people my parents age painting their face, wearing purple camoflauge pants with feathered hats and beads, and the women are dressed even sillier. drunk as all hell before the game even starts, howling at everyone, running into things, falling down, blatantly ogling at every female who passes by, and thats before the game even starts!!!!!!!
its a very very scary scene, indeed.
now perhaps i just dont understand it all, and i wont call football fans the worst, but next time i hear some NFL guy going on and on as they do, i will know, at least men dont wear dresses, snouts and off colour camo pants to hockey, baseball or basketball games :)
-
To be fair, they were oogling the female's "strategy". It's totally different.

How exactly is this different from Charm City on any other day?

If you think the fans of American football are crazy you should see how the fans of European football (soccer) act. They make us look timid and mild in comparison.
-
was this your first NFL game? seems about par for the course to me
i'm just amazed that working class people can afford season tickets and parking and beer at the stadium and what not ... shit is expensive
i spent yesterday afternoon on the couch watching NFL Sunday Ticket and biting off my fingernails watching the slightly less inept Bucs hold off the embarrassing Vikings for the entire second half
for the 4 o'clock games I had the chance to graze a bit, and found that the new interactive features and Red Zone Channel this year for the Ticket are so choice ... if you have the means, i highly recommend picking it up

America as a country spends money it doesn't have; why should it's citizens live any differently?

i went to the Packers/Lions game last year in Green Bay, but it was 5 degrees outside so it was really just winter coats and some silly hats here and there. and no, people didnt seem anywhere near as loaded there, but then again, it was 5 degrees.

impressive, how'd you score tickets to lambert field? (sorry, bad Kerry joke) ... i've heard that packers fans go absolutely nutz, but i could see how temps around 0 would stifle that a bit
-
ebay baby, $400 a ticket!!! (it was a once in a lifetime thing most likely, though i did put my name on the season ticket waiting list at number 78,102 and 78,103 :)
the fans DO go completely nuts, even in the cold, just not like they are that drunk, and out of hand like....

I can't tell which, if not both of you are being sarcastic, so I'm going to just say you're both bastards, and your picture has been forwarded to staph who will be keeping an eye out for you.

they already have my picture, for the chillum comment remember??
-
i never got why people go so crazy over watchin other people do something. it's like a joke that i just don't get/haven't been let in on. somebody let me in on the secret. i grew up in the countryside in NJ none of my friends followed sports. we blew shit up using our dad's gun powder and acetaline gas tanks, drove trucks in the fields at 12, scoped out deer hunting locations [that's right, so we could kill bambi].
-
Gee, I'm not sure I'm allowed to post here, but I was at the Raven's game last night. First, yes it was QUITE different from other NFL games, in other cities, with other fans. It was bizarre, Fellini'esque. It was very different from the handful of Redskins games I attended last year, the Bears games in Chicago; and the Denver Bronco's...the fans/dress/drinking are wayyy over the top in comparison, and that wasn't the worst part of the evening, either. If you read the papers today, you'd know - but I suppose those of you who didn't go know more than those of us who did.

missing something here?
that was one of the most thoughtless, humourless, unintelligable rants i have ever read.
please go to the back of the class.

yeah, raven fans are second only to philly fans in coarseness, rudeness, and vulgarity. it's always a treat to see them lose at home, especially after being dismantled last night by the colts.

but i can see from others, thats you love to read thoughtless babble ;)

Muschi is the guy who posted drunk after The Wrens show and also the nut who went off over his ex-girlfriend only to eventually post a picture of her flashing her tits. I'm sure that you remember that!
-
hmmm, noper, musta missed that one!

i wasnt going to waste board space on responding to attempted and total-miss insults -- but i'll be constructive. hey SONIC and other tools like him/her, why dont u stop being a turd and stop putting others down and say something original.
reminds me of when i was a teenaged-punk and my 20something bandmates would say about teenag-youngsters and not being into the grateful dead "they just dont get it" (you haven't lived yet what do u really know).

why do people get off so much on watching live bands?
or movies?
i think its just cause most of our lives are much less exciting than peoples in movies or athletes' lives on the field.

What kind of dumb-fuck question is that?
-
it's sounds good. it's an art. it's communication and expression. it and it's ideas live long after the music has stopped playing. it becomes a part of you - of who you are (and/or it becomes a part (extension) of you). i may shout out and hoop and holler at next 930 show when the musicians finish a song thats really good, in a caveman roar i'll go "yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah, nice hammer on! yeah!" and high five one of you. conversely, if a guitarists string breaks and pops out "i'll scream in disgust "FUCK!!!" as if i just blew a hemmoroid. god help us all if the drummers stick breaks, all hell will break loose!

Old news! You guys bickered this last year!
<img src="http://lavender.fortunecity.com/foxybrown/515/oe1.jpg" alt=" - " />

I'm starting to wonder if Muschi was the guy who was standing directly behind Kurosawa and I at the Soundtrack Of Our Lives show a couple years ago at the 9:30 Club. The one when Caesars and Sam Roberts opened. Totally same MO. This guy had me in stitches! One of the few times that I was next to the biggest nut in the club (which is quite often :D
BTW, best sports thread ever!
-
did the nut look like this guy (me)? <img src="http://www.creativeparties.co.uk/library/CPH0031.jpg" alt=" - " /> "yeaaaaah, nice fucking pliet!!!"
-
No, he was a blonde and not the type I'd imagine cruising the leather bars.
He kept trying to get Kurosawa and I to show the band (Caesars) some leg to get them all riled up. LOLOL. One of those things that you would have had to have witnessed him in action to fully understand how damned funny he was. He was a wild one!

Not according to them because the Red Sox broke their 5 million year curse last year.

Clearly, you guys have never been to a Raiders game if you think Raven's games are bad.
I was at the Raiders-Steelers game in the early ninties where they beat a Steelers fan to a pulp about 20 rows in front of me.
He died 3 days later.
-

well, if we want to go through all of time history like Yankees fans do....
we'll start with 3 out of the last 4 super bowls, thank you very much.
we are the current World Champions in baseball and may repeat that feat.
didnt the Celtics win the NBA finals like 8 times in a fucking row???? and does any team have as many NBA championships?
then the Bruins, who havent won in a while, but have produced some of the best hockey players ever to play the game.
i wouldnt say they suck at all.
i know the Raptors, Leafs, Blue Jays history is summed up in 2 WS wins, and a handful of Grey Cups (which even Baltimore has one of those!!!)

That was the worst case cited for example purposes.
I could post thousands of other reasons why one should never attend a Raiders game.
I would buy season seats for the Ravens before ever attending another Raiders game.

Maine isnt really part of New England, they just tell you that to make you feel better.
Maine was sold to Canada in the late 60's in a trade so Canada would let a US Hockey team win the Stanley Cup again :)
