who's up for it? I think canadian psych-pop beats the pats/panthers any day.

Oh, yeah. I forgot the Supertoilet was on today. LOL. Goes to show what I think of American football.
Don't like The Unicorns but would like to see The Occasion but can't make it. Hope you have fun.

I'll be there... oh wait, nobody knows me or cares. sigh.
-
I will most definitely be there. I'm a fan of The Occasion.

:( sob. wish i could go. sadly cannot make it. walkie and kurosawa, i expect full on rock out reports!!

Wow. What a good show. The Unicorns were witty, energetic and rocked out. I wasn't familiar with their music going into the show but loved the set. I will have to buy the record. The music was superb and really, the highlight was the chit chat between songs.
And I enjoyed The Occasion's set. I like the intensity that they build and their full sound. I have to say, though, that the extended fiddling at the end was ridiculously long.
Oh and by the way, the show sold out. We had to wait in a long line just to get in.

agree with everything kurosawa said. the unicorns are my new favorite band.

I thought the show was great, definitely more fun than stoopid football. Loved the pink outfits! I liked The Occasion, and was even considering getting their CD, up until that horrid 20 minutes of nothingness at the end. I noticed more than a few people sticking their fingers in their ears. And what was up with the young crowd? It seemed like everyone in my vicinity had the black X's on their hands. Were the Unicorns written up in Teen People or somethign?

Ah, another crowded, hot, sold out backstage show at the black cat where only the first 20 people in the door can actually see anything. My roommate and I had only heard one tune from each of the bands, didn't know what to expect, both really enjoyed The Occasion, except for the piss poor manning of the sound boards, I thought one song was an instrumental until I noticed his mouth was moving. We both thought the Unicorns meant well and were entertaining... but we got restless and left after about 6 songs. And yes, there seemed to be black X's everywhere who knew all the words and were laughing too loud at the funny, but not *that* funny, stage banter. Something is amiss...
Can anyone give me one good reason why they have shows on the backstage when there is nothing going on upstairs?
