you have to be a donor at wolftrap to get in on the "presales"

I can't remember our row, but we're probably close to where you are. Bought the tickets the day they went on sale.
Ironically, the in-laws are driving here from Chicago tomorrow, and ARE big Ricky Skaggs fans, but after a 13 hour drive are opting not to go to the show...

I'm going, with my parents as well. Del Mc is always good, and the Old Crow band is a fairly rowdy and enjoyable crew of punky-bluegrass types. Should be quite the hootenany.

I am looking forward to Del McCoury as well...i don't know much about Old Crow, i asked a coworker of mine and she said that they were "Hot"..so yeah..thats all i know

Ricky Skaggs' band is just plain awesome. He goes a little heavy on the Jesus talk, but musically, he's second to none.
I've never seen Patty Loveless, but her bluegrass album is quite good, and she aint bad to look at, either.
Saw Del McCoury at the Birchmere when he was doing the bluegrass tour with Steve Earle, and it was clear that Del was a bluegrass god, and Steve wasn't in the same league.
Don't know much about Riders in the Sky.
Saw Old Crow when I was out in SF, and though I wanted to like them, I didn't. Their singer puts on this over the top faux su-thun accent, and the band ends up sounding like the house band at the Americana theme park. Their fan base was very young as well, and ate their shit right up (aided no doubt by the smell of weed wafting through the crowd)

i think i am going to stay home and iron my shirts, maybe paint my bathroom.

When are these inbred yokels gonna learn to spell "Old" and "Opera"?

aren't they a surf band?

It's sad I have to educate this crowd. Riders in the Sky are a trio who play country music circa 1990. Unless their gag has changed, they used to try to make it a little comical. I've seen Ricky Scaggs at the actual Grand Ole Opry, he's solid bluegrass as they come. Old Crow are a glorified jam band.
That's my two cents. Enjoy the show.
