hey, does anyone know if the vines are coming to the 9:30 on mar. 15th? i've heard they are, but maybe not, etc.. thanx. :)
-
they probably are, but British Sea Power are playing Blackcat that night.........
-
according to the email sent out by the living end the answer is probably...
http://www.930.com/cgi-bin/ubb-cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=005892 (http://www.930.com/cgi-bin/ubb-cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=005892)
however it's not official until announced by the club.

(shhhh, hey markie, only 29 to go! hee hee...)
-
Yeah... definitely British Sea Power... Those that have seen both the Vines and BSP will certainly steer you clear of the Vines. If you don't know who they are, think of anything positive about the Vines (many will think this might take some time), BSP betters that about 10 fold. Check 'em out.
-
thanx kids - i've heard BSP puts on a great show...given the vines last performance at the 9:30 (back in spring '03), maybe i'll check out bsp. :D
-
Yeah, def check out BSP over the Vines. I'm still going to the Vines show, but only cuz I want to see The Living End and Jet. Plus, i've seen BSP twice in the last year. Once when they opened for the Libertines, and once when they headlined, both extremely good shows.

Perhaps this giant picture of Kylie and Dannii (http://medlem.spray.se/pirat89/photoalbum.html) could persuade you otherwise?

Nope, I think its awful, the riff is a big rip off of the velvet underground.
PoorMankie.

I liked The Vines the first time I saw them and still enjoy the album. Unfortunately, they loudly (and publicly) imploded, and I lost respect for them. I will listen to their new album but will not be going to their show. For me, British Sea Power are definitely the better live band.
-
Yeah... they put on an OK, not great, show... they had some potential but the level of hype surrounding them far exceeded their talent.
-
I know it's lame, but I still can't remember who's the Vines and who's the Hives. ??? Which is the one that wears the skinny ties?
-
the hives are the matching suit and skinny tie wearing bunch.... i personally like the hives regardless of what some on this board think of them. yes a large amount of hype accompanied this band at one point. but, it was also a case of being in the right place at the right time. they had already been touring around the states as a less publized 60's garage influence band, when they suddenly landed in the hype zone when garage became "hip" again. sure the lead singer coped a couple moves from the likes of mick jagger and the professor from the woggles, but include them in a mix of 60's garage bands and you wouldn't now they were a contemporary band.
can't comment on the vines never heard them or care to hear them...
