My top 15 on last.fm has none of those artists. Not to say that I don't like a few of em.
-
by the way, most of you guys are way too easy, and the first few artists would give it away

Wow - U2 fell to fourth. I hadn't noticed that. As longs as smackette and I keep entertaining folks, Nouvelle Vague will continue to lead. There's no better background music for any party.

Ivy first -- WAY TO GO, DOOM!!!!!
LOVE them.....

I was sort of shocked to see myself at the top of this thread, given the low level of interest I usually inspire here (except in Markie, who has a high level of interest in wanting to beat me up)..
As for Ivy... Bags I love Ivy too, but that got to the top of the list because I went out for a long period once, more than a day, and forgot Itunes on with my 2 Ivy albums on repeat. :)

The first thing I thought was that sentiment has been played to death almost as badly as Rhett having a child on this board.

I bought a used copy of Pantera's "Far Beyond Driven" once on a roadtrip thinking it would be a really good way to make some miles and the disc (with all of the Pantera artwork printed right there on it) turned out to have the record "Apartment Life" by Ivy on it...

I don't think they have internet in Illinois!
-
Sorry to have brought that up!
-
Mine was way too easy.
But by the way, while we're on the topic of music (and summery powerpop, for that matter), every one of you should purchase the new record "Nighttiming" by Coconut Records on iTunes. Just saying :)

Le Sonik? He's the only one, I think, with a hard on for Midlake. If that's correct I've spent way too much time lurking here.

has to be sonick. totally busted on the keane.
i forsee a lot of people clearing out their all-time list, lest such skeletons remain :)
-
So are these counts the number of times people have listened to a song my that particular band?
If so, the totals seem really high. I would think that people have so many albums that it would be very hard to get anywhere near 400+ listens of any one band...I know I probably dig out any one all time favorite album maybe a coupld of times a year.
-
he's a nancy boy then per ggw.

yes, its me. my girlfriend likes the Keane and thats probably how it got so high. (really its only 60-some songs)
i dont think Keane is bad though, would definitely not say they were one of my top 15 bands!!!

That's what it's supposed to be, but I'm actually pretty sure it is even less than that...
it's not too hard at all. I've had my account for well over a year, maybe two, maybe three, and the stuff adds up
-
yeah, i have apparently listened to over 10,000 songs and my top artist is what? 150?
plus, last.fm doesnt count what i play in my car. which is more hip hop than rock (i blast hip hop in the city here so the brothers think i am cool and dont carjack me!)

Do Canadians have an unreasonable fear of inner city brothers?
I'm never afraid of being carjacked when I drive downtown.

if you've been scrobbling for two years and have your itunes running for 10 hours a day at work (often on shuffle), and have the entire catalogues of some very prolific artists, the play counts can add up. hence:
1 Bob Dylan 3,660
2 The Fall 3,153

Pinto station wagons are not in high demand.

Not a bad guess, Kosmo. I am an unabashed fan of Radiohead, Sparklehorse, Muse, and The New Pornographers, but, surprisingly, none of those are in my top 15 on Last.fm. The closest is The New Pornographers who are currently at #16.... My last.fm rankings tend to reflect my concert-going, and, sadly, I haven't been to a Radiohead concert in far too long. Too bad there's no last.fm scrobbler for my car's CD changer. :) Anyway, my list was posted in the previous thread on this topic....

Yeah, but what about Datsuns?

Did they ever come up with a decent, easy plugin to pull the recently played tracks off of an iPod and import them into last.fm? 90% of my listening is done at work or at the gym.

I tried that a while ago, but found it to be kind of a pain. Maybe I'll try it again. Thanks.
