Title: I'll be DJing this Sat. (8/16) at 18th St. Lounge from
Post by: Christine Moritz on August 14, 2008, 04:35:00 pm
If you'd like to hear some of the 60+ records that I bought in London last week, stop by Eighteenth Street Lounge this Saturday (August 16).

I'll be DJing from 9:30-11:30 p.m., opening for Tom B (a.k.a. Thomas Blondet).

WHERE: Eighteenth Street Lounge, 1212 18th Street NW, Washington, DC (above Mattress Discounters)
COVER: Varies; usually $10 on the early side.
DRESS CODE: Varies. In the past, items that have been frowned upon include flip-flops, sneakers, athletic gear, torn/ripped jeans, flannel shirts, cargo pants, and possibly khakis or light-colored blue jeans.

I remember when it was nearly impossible to get into ESL on a Friday or Saturday if you were a guy who showed up without a female companion and the dress code was super strict and all the guys had to pay $25. Now everytime I go they let the slummiest looking guys in (who -- full disclaimer -- usually are with my group) and for like $10. Still one of my favorite clubs though.

So I know someone who works around 18th and N, where all those Eurotrash clubs are, and she says that there are always stolen cars turning up on her block, distinguished by the fact that they accumulate a huge number of tickets before being noticed and taken away... apparently some of the high-class crowd that frequents these places likes to arrive in stolen rides...

Given all the traffic on this thread, there very well may be.

Yep, they don't seem to be as strict at the door as they used to be.

Hope to see some of y'all tonight!
