I can't believe that the Scissor Sisters are coming to the 9:30 Club! OMG! ^_^ I just bought my tickets.
Anyone else going? They're one of my fave bands of all time. Over in Europe they're freakin' gods, their new album and single over there were #1 for weeks!
Oh my god...just a few feet away from the Sisters. I'm still in shock. It'll be my first time seeing them in person! ^_^
*blasts their song She's My Man and rocks out*

I did see The Sounds at the 9:30 Club almost a year ago, that was awesome. Even though like 70% of the people in the crowd were 14 year old girls. Ew.
But SCISSOR SISTERS are coming! OMG! *blasts some more music* I'm sorry, I'm totally geeking out, but I didn't think they'd come this close to MD. And in such an intimate club! They usually play big arenas now.
Jake Shears is the best frontman of all time. He puts on a HELL of a show, oh my god. Everyone that goes to this gig is going to have an awesome night.

its not that we are sourpusses. but imagine this type of behaviour in real life.
you and some friends are at a bar, talking, having some drinks, the bar is playing the new *insert band name* CD and this guy comes running into the bar, grabs you and is like "oh my god, i love this fucking CD, it rocks so much!! Do you guys like it too???!!!"
now, not everyone would react the same way but the amount of people that would be like "whoa dude, like, settle down!" are probably 10:1 to the people who would just be like "yeah bro!! it DOES rawk!, whats your name, I'm Billy!"
this is how i feel when a new poster comes in gushing over some band using "OMG" "rawk" "rulz" or lots of CAPITAL LETTERS!!!
am i the only one?

Can't you just be happy that someone got really excited about the chance to see one of their fave bands? When I see someone like that IRL, that excited, I just smile and go "Awwe...".
It IS a big deal to me to get to see Scissor Sisters. And I'm estatic! Sorry if that bugs you.

and second, no one said they werent happy for you and i never said it bugs me that you are estatic.
i love the SS actually, i cant wait to see em.
i was just explaining why some people were like "uh..what?" when that was your first post (and a thread already existing on this board).
plus, a good many people on this board are 30+ a little different reaction is to be expected.

kinda ironic that you'd say that... you're asking us to be polite, respect opinions, put up with newbie behavior, live and let live - as if this was real life.
well, it's not, you said so yourself. so we don't have to be nice. we're free to ridicule with impunity, you're free to grow up and grow a skin.
online and in real life (sonick: "IRL"), teasing of newcomers is the rule rather than the exception. that being said, welcome :)

Leave Mikey alone. I too love Dee Snider and Scissor Sister. They are kick ass!!!! Not only are they huge in Europe but in Norway and Tanzania they are actually considered gods...literally. I'm glad they are finally making a comeback in the states. I just hope they keep the makeup and big hair and I can't wait to rock out at the 930 with "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock".
