Weird...I could've sworn the show happened at the 9:30 Club

Did they even sellout this time?  I think there were still tickets available a few days ago.

Yeah, what a fall, right?

I mean, didn't they sell out the Black Cat like a year ago? Weren't they doing theaters and amphitheaters a while ago? Now they can't even sell out the 930 Club in their "hometown"...it's a little sad.

Maybe their local audience can no longer afford the gas money to get to their show.

the show was sold out, and this is by no means the wrong forum.

They should have gassed everyone at that show... actually, just the band.

Wow, that's a little harsh. At least one of them is a dad. Maybe just cut their hands off.

interesting - are you implying that becoming a father automatically redeems a person?

Glad to see it sold out! Good for them.

Why, just why? Do you really feel the need to not only comment, but be nasty in threads that you could easily ignore?

 It's really sort of sad.

Wasn't their last local show that free BC myspace show where they had trouble filling it?

What an ignorant thing to suggest. I brought my 11 year old son to that show and he had a great time. Maybe I should start censoring his music taste and only allow him to listen to indie rock bands?

Ugh, you people and your negativity make me sick. Grow up.

Yeah, but I thought it was sold out/packed? I wasn't there, but by all accounts I'd read, you'd think the kids were having a hard time getting in. It's good they still play local shows. Not my kind of thing, but I respect bands that cater to their home base.

It may have been; I'm just going by what I think I remember reading on this board. A few passed by the club and barely saw anyone in line or something.

I could be wrong though; one of the people who know the search secret should pull it up.

seems like it wasn't too crowded for that secret show at the black cat (http://www.930.com/cgi-bin/ubb-cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=015047)

I was all poised to say something snarky, and then Shadrach made me feel guilty.  And he's kind of right.   And now I can't snark on Dave Matthews Band, either.     :(

God forbid someone says something snarky on an Internet message board.

This place is going to get real boring if the Lecture Lindas get their way. It's really sort of sad.

I'm saying that a kid needs a good father in this world more than Rusty doesn't need Good Charlotte in this world.

How the hell does he do it?

You know, I'd rather not know.

It's one of those things that should/should've   stay/stayed a mystery. Like the identity of Deep Throat. Or Burial.  :)

 Finally knowing might be anti-climactic.

As we've said time and time again, no one is saying that you can't say anything negative on this board. There is no desire to censor you. That being said if you want to start an "I hate Good Charlotte" thread then by all means do it. It would just be nice if the elitist attitude that has reined in this forum for so long would allow for others to come here and feel welcome. Frankly it's starting to feel like an old folks home in here. When I was your age punk rock meant having to walk 20 miles in the snow, uphill and barefoot in order to see a show...

I really can not stand good charlotte. The singers voice makes me want to stab a fork into my ear.

I'm very surprised the show didn't sell out faster though.

one of my favorite bathroom graffitis was in  heathers (http://nymag.com/listings/bar/heathers/) in nyc

next to a "EMPLOYEES MUST WASH HANDS" sign, someone wrote:  "like, everyone's hands?  ritualistically? cool."

I might go to the sonar show-how was it except for the fact that you waited around for a non-encore?

The reason the Black Cat show was somewhat empty was because a lot of people thought they had no chance of getting free tickets. That was back in March of 2007. My friends and I went and had a blast. They even played me a few older songs of theirs. The whole situation with the free show to me was almost a strange psychology experiment. A lot of people didn't come out because they thought they had no chance. I'm glad I went because it felt like one of their shows from back in the days before they became huge.

ps- I really wish I could've seen the boys either at Sonar or at the 9:30 club, but unfortunately, I had a family emergency that prevented me from attending.
