I think some of these band's entire career is based on playing these same summer festivals. Many repete's from last year. Exit Clov is still rumored to be playing on Aug. 21st. Too bad it's with Pat McGee.

Are these two attached at the hip?

Having seen some of these bands in action at the 9:30 club recently I think I'll stay home...
-
I'll be in Chicago for the only ones I'd be interested in seeing (Old 97s)
-
Worse still, this year tickets are $7 at the door or $5 in advance. The cool thing about these shows (i.e. Live on Penn, and previously DC Sessions) was always that they were free or pretty close to it. I can't see myself paying $7 for any of those 'cept Old 97s. Boo.

Mindcage, I agree with you, it is not a complete summer without the most exciting band to ever come out of DC, Emmett Swimming!
visit Doomlink! (http://www.alex.to/doomlink)

i would have checked the ole 69ers out, but i'll be on the way to the beach that weekend. bah
-
Marc Broussard is definetly worth it. I could do without almost all of the others on here. How is it that Eve6 is opening for Old 97s.. Crazy. Old 97s are so much better than this.. sigh

It seems the only free concert series we got left in DC is Fort Reno Summer Concert Series (http://www.fortreno.com/index.html). The DC sessions has moved to Merriweather starting July 17th. Last year, All Live On Penn shows were $3. The only way to get those $5 tickets is to go on The Live On Penn website. Not only that, Live On Penn has new sponsors, Toyota and Scion.
As for the schedule:
July 10th: I think I could make that
July 17th: I would go for Nappy Roots
July 24th: I might pass on that
July 31st: I might go, but I made plans to travel to Richmond for the East Coast Nationals (http://www.eastcoastnationals.com)
August 7th: I'll be in California
August 14th: I'll go to see 3 out of the 4 bands
August 21st: I might attend, if I can't go on the On Tap Bus Trip.
August 28th: I may check it out.
September 11th: I made plans to be in Ocean City (http://www.delmarvabikeweek.com) that weekend, but I could change if there's an act not to be missed.
September 18th: I've attend show where Finger 11 was on the bill, but I missed their performance (Evanescence on September 12, 2003 and Trapt on March 4, 2004). I plan to attend that show if there's any other act that sparks my interest.

The connection and/or spin is that they are both from New Orleans.

EVE 6 are very good live, I guess If I do go I'll have to suffer thru the opening bands. I think I'll just hit the beach that Saturday and possibly every other one.

eve 6 and finger11 for the shitty rock fans...I will be there!
-
I know I should hate them, but Eve 6's first big hit was a damn catchy tune.
