...their new album "No Deliverance" is scheduled to be released August 19. According to their myspace page there'll be more info to follow at nodeliverance.com

I have no idea who these guys are, but I read that their singer was once roommates with Rhett Miller.

Stop being coy...
You remember dancing around your dorm room in a flannel to Possom Kingdom. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5Cf5OusjrQ)

Interesting, perhaps Todd (Toadies singer/guitarist/founder) gave Rhett a sense of musical direction back in the early 90's when he couldn't decide what image to portray.

I remember seeing them at the old 930 club opening up for Bush before "Sixteen Stone" was out. Such a fantastic show it was....a bit warm though lol

I'm interested to hear what this sounds like. The Toadies first two records - especially Hell Below, Stars Above - were great.

ha - Toadies. You guys listen to some crap!
What next? Brother Cane reunion/tour/new album thread?

Comparing Toadies to Brother Cane? At least bring a valid argument instead of pulling an unrelated 90's band out of your ass, I'd give you credit if you said they owed the Pixies royalties but then that would actually require you to have heard the band, try again.

just noticed that the Toadies were added to lollapalooza's line-up. cool.

i used to love the Toadies....i dont know if i'd pay $10 to see em again though. maybe if they opened up for Candlebox.

Without a doubt one of the most underrated bands and guitarists out there. Their live shows do not even compare to their studio stuff. I caught them just a few years ago a few times and man can they still rock it.
"Bob the Drummer" or "Trip With My Dad" and of course "Dizz Knee Land" right? ;)

I was thinking "Dizz Knee Land" and "Dim" actually.
I know I am dating myself but I remember before i got my license, my GF at the time letting me take her Plymouth Horizon out on the Gardiner at 4am and i tried to get it up to 150kmh as we were listening to that song on the radio.
"cant this car go any faster?"
