Other than in the D.C. area have you spotted any 930 stuph on your travels?
I saw the bloke working the soundboard wearing one at the Beautiful South concert in Cork, Ireland.
-
I see 'em pretty regularly in Los Angeles but I think half of West Hollywood used to work door at the Club. I also have been "sighted" myself, everywhere from Atlanta to Edinburgh, Scotland, although never for a shirt. T-shirt or matches for me. I was actually joking with a co-worker that I always take 9:30 matches with me when I travel because I just have to leave them on whatever bar I am patronizing for a few minutes before someone wants to talk about the Club.
By the way... will 9:30 still have matches when the no-smoking law kicks in? I'm sure they'll keep them till the stock is gone, but will they keep ordering more? I sure would hate to have no more 9:30 matches!

You know, that's an excellent question! My guess is that they won't since they won't be making a little extra money from the cigarette vending machines to offset the cost of the complimentary matches.
That's the one thing that I've always hated about being a non-smoker. No 9:30 or other cool matches. But I will admit that a couple times I did take a pack just to use at home for candles. You have to admit, it's so much cooler to have a pack of 9:30 matches laying on your coffee table rather than those ugly generic discount matches you buy in the stores. Even then, they still advertise their crap store. Even though I'm not a smoker, I'm still inadvertantly advertising the club with the match pack laying by a candle. People like me just use much less of them.
Hopefully, they will still have them as a kind of a token business card since it does help to advertise the club regardless of how they are used. If worse comes to worse, maybe they will sell whole boxes of them at the mech stand; hopefully, at a very reasonable price if we end up having to pay for them. Complimentary would be even better since I know you can write them off your taxes as an advertising expense. Something to think about Seth. ;)

This summer we ran into a girl in San Francisco wearing a 9:30 t-shirt. Right at the corner of Haight-Ashbury

Replace the matches with condoms. They'll take up the same amount of space and you'd promote the club while combating STDs. Everybody wins! :D

But I don't think you'd get the same reaction from leaving a 9:30 condom out at a bar as you do from leaving a pack of 9:30 matches out at a bar.

Plus, take out a pack of 9:30 matches and everyone knows they were free but no one cares because it's just matches. Take out a 9:30 condom and everyone knows it was free and evetyone mocks you for being too cheap to buy your own condoms!
-
The condom idea sounds good but personally, from my experience, I wouldn't trust a free condom. Almost every time I've had one break on me, it was one of those freebies. No, thanks! I'm not looking to have a little unexpected Seth or Setheena, courtesy of a broken 9:30 Club condom.

i don't have an answer to the match question. i just wanted to point out that i doubt that the staph that work the coffee bar would appreciate being called "cigarette vending machines."

:) So I take it that the bar will continue to stock them. Thanks, Seth!!! That makes me happy. Couple of other places I go to are already out of matches and don't plan on re-ordering them. Doesn't make sense to me as I imagine they'd be good advertizing and not overly expensive.
Makes me happy too, because I have been flying a lot lately and like to stop by for a show and a couple of beers a day or two before I travel, and replenish my match supply (no lighters allowed on planes)!

Well, that's good, 'cause I would have asked to grab a couple if they were ceased in production.
Which club isn't making them anymore? If it's IOTA, I'll need to grab a couple. I love Jane's logo. Plus, when they first opened, IOTA had blank matchbooks and everyone would write and doodle on them and put them back in the jar for others, give out or keep.
I was spotted in AZ with a 9:30 pin on a bag. The response was a rock-n-roll hand gesture/tongue hanging out/"9:30! Yeah!" shout.

That's an old shirt Paul's wearing, circa 1994.

Not quite as outdated as his hairstyle.

interesting, the pic is from Live 8 (july 2005) so maybe paul picked it up in a vintage clothes shop... or, being the beer-drenched arena rockers that they are, they're still sportin' 10-year-old t-shirts. helps that they probably don't do laundry often :)
ah, the sweet smell of dried molson...

t'is relative - where they're from, hockey hair will forever be in style. fun for the whole family (http://media.urbandictionary.com/image/large/mullet-1958.jpg) - if it doesn't tear them apart (http://www.mulletmadness.com/articles/mullets_in_the_news/ford_chevy) first

No Thatguy merch, however, a few years ago Thatguy was in the 9:30 merch photos, I believe. Not sure if you really wanted the link to the online store, for what it's worth:
9:30 merch (http://www.930.com/merch.html)
9:30 Giftcards (http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?orgid=22133)
