Title: speaking of mass transit
Post by: yinzer on January 10, 2008, 11:42:00 am
i know i started a thread a few months ago about my limited sample of one, antecdotally supported venting (some characterized it as whining) concerning the overall decline in metro service over the years.  well now it's official -  metro blows now more than ever. (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/01/09/AR2008010903596.html)

there will no doubt still be agents for the status quo even as fares go up which will only partly address the pitiful quality in metro service as it further deteriorates.

I started taking VRE instead of Metro, and it's so, so, so much better.

Now if there's an Amtrak strike later this month, which would cause VRE to park its trains, now that would suck.

I'm reaching out to the community for support of this initiative
Yes, it's just a poll on Arlnow (I know. doesn't everyone read that daily)
but getting a gondola across the Potomac solves so many problems in the DMV I don't even know where to start

https://www.arlnow.com/2021/08/19/morning-poll-but-seriously-should-we-build-a-gondola/

Plus this is a cheap infrastructure project...only $90 Million
