what's wrong with that name? it's a traditional mexican name for a woman.

actually what seems more typical is when a lottery winner is a 70 year old farmer from West Virginia...
the black folk here in DC who spend all their hard earned wages on lottery tickets and church tithing never seem to win anything...
goddamn lottery is racist...

They need to fund the lottery somehow.

At least with the lottery you have a chance of winning. Also doesnt that money go to good causes?

shortly have the spanish took over mexico and started to convert the aztecs to catholicism, guadelupe (a translation of the virgin mary from the aztec language) appeared to an aztec peasant, and she commanded of him to tell the local bishop to build a church on a site in northwest mexico city. the larger significance of it is that it gave the aztec's the belief that this new religion did have a place in their society and that it spoke directly to them, in a way like patrick explaining the trinity through the shamrock- it explained catholicism through something that everyone knew, or allowed the locals to come to believe in something unique to them. needless to say, conversion's became alot easier for the spanish.
the church, the shrine of our lady of guadelupe is one of the most visited churches in the world.

If the virgin mary came to visit me, I hope she would have something more revealing to say than, "build a church". Its all very convenient isn't it?
I thought there were doubts the guy who saw Guadalupe actually saw her, and so was not really a saint?

I think the lottery money goes into various state budgets.
So it's essentially another way to tax the poor, since they are the ones who play more often.

well, i know the pope bestowed the title of blessed upon him, and i think he's been under alot of pressure to make him a saint, especially since latin america contains the largest population of catholics.
