i wish i had tivoed that ... i figured they'd just play "krafty", which i'm not too big a fan of ...

New Order on Kimmel, that's way below them if you ask me.
That's like Beckham playing for DC United, which is a rumour buzzing around here. (finishing out his career in a couple of years)

yea, some friends were lucky enough to get tickets to the taping... they said it kind'a sucked. i know kimmel sucks, so-
i say- it ain't worth sitting through jimmy fucktard kimmel for anything.
the latest NO cd sounds just like everything else they've ever done.

Wow - this completely confuses me ...
"Waiting For The Sirens' Call" sounds like "Movement," "Power Corruption & Lies," etc.?
I don't think so.
Cheers

...and even if it did (which it doesn't) why would that be a bad thing?

you know what opinions are like:
everybody's got one and everyone else's stinks.
actually, i'm a big fan of new order... have been since the joy division days. they sent me a promo copy of NO and i enjoyed it.
but that doesn't exlude me from calling a spade a spade.

My take on New Order on Kimmel:
</font>- <font size="2" face="Arial, Veranda">Don't like the song Krafty much at all but, hey, it's NO. Fucking Disco! :(</font></li>
- <font size="2" face="Arial, Veranda">The sound was on the crap side of mediocre.</font></li>
- <font size="2" face="Arial, Veranda">The instrumentation was pretty good but Krafty sucks and Love Will Tear Up Apart is a great classic.</font></li>
- <font size="2" face="Arial, Veranda">The new guy is pretty good and seems to be working fairly well with the band.</font></li>
- <font size="2" face="Arial, Veranda">Barney's voice is shot...already. Don't expect much for the mini tour.</font></li>
- <font size="2" face="Arial, Veranda">Love Will Tear Us Apart was beautifully and appropriately dark with Ian. Now it's just another bittersweet; emphasises on 'sweet'; memory with Barney.</font></li>
- <font size="2" face="Arial, Veranda">Hookey sounded like an ass trying to rock it up on LWTUA with his dumbass 'hey's and other vocal hoots.</font></li>
- <font size="2" face="Arial, Veranda">Just as things were really getting somewhat enjoyable, as usual, the dumbass network cut off the broadcasting maybe a little past the middle of Love Will Tear Us Apart. Why didn't they save Krafty for last!? (Don't bother answering because I already know the answer.)</font></li>

Respectfully disagree concerning Krafty-- I think it's one of their best songs since Regret, and overall Sirens is better than anything since Technique. Their performance on Kimmel was not bad.
Kimmel's show by the way is abysmal. I Tivo'd the show but couldn't wait to see the band- and sitting through that god awful show was torture.
Too bad the band won't be coming to D.C. and the NYC show sold out in minutes...
