Is there an 11/6 Black Keys show also?
-
Yes.
-
Any idea when night 2 might go on-sale?
-
Probably the Thursday after whenever night 1 sells out. :)
-
The band's myspace site says the 11/6 show will go on sale today but I don't see it up on tickets.com either.
-
wow, are you guys serious about seeing this band, once or even twice?
what they need is an additional musician...they sound rather flat. they sound like hmmm, a poor man's BB King. oh, they need some hooks and maybe a better singer! that's important!
-
Even though it just means I have to drive to the box office twice, that sucks. I see the business reasoning behind it, but I don't like it. It's not very consumer friendly.
-
Joe M.
Maybe you should lobby the club to get another Justin Timberlake date...apparently he's more your taste? Sorry if gritty, bluesy rock and roll isn't your thing--not every band caters to chicks.
-
I'd rather have 3 nights of TV on the Radio...do you know them?

im curious as to who you listen to..
maybe we're jealous that they're better than the white stripes?
-
ohh, just about anyone good...Bjork, Wilco,...Canadian and British bands (Pulp, Radiohead, Broken Social Scene, New Pornographers, etc)..
White Stripes could be way better if Jack gets rid of Meg and replace her with the drummer from deadboy and the elephantmen,..

I don't know TVonR, but just checked out myspace. Not my cup of tea. And the other bands you dig go a long way to explain our differences of opinion as I don't care for any of them.
'Good' is a VERY subjective idea. You're obviously not alone in your dislike of the Keys or your fondness for Radiohead, etc and the same is true for Keys fans. So why bother dissing them on a message board?
-
LOL...OK, chick here who likes The Black Keys and thinks Timberlake is good solid eye-candy. =)
Agree that another musician would be nice on some tracks, but would not change the singer or make this band a permanent trio or quartet. The 2 guys make a rather full sound together. That's my $.02, YMMV.

Certainly didn't intend to knock the ladies who dig the Keys..you're obviously a very cool chick! I agree w/ what you say RE: adding some here or there but not making it permanent. It's their stripped down sound that is so appealing.

have you seen them live? i actually had a similar impression of them when i first heard their records. but last year i saw them at a festival up close and they rocked my face off.

Yes.

Go see the Black Keys play live. All your doubts will be erased.

me three. they're a good live band
i dont think anyone said they were the next Rolling Stones. just that they were worth $20.

The Flat Duojets were doing the same schtick just as well or better long ago.

the flat duojets dont sound anything like the Black Keys. nice try though.
-
Rhett uses the Flat Duo Jets jibe about every guitar/drums duo. White Stripes, the Kills, Black Keys, etc...
I wonder if he stopped listening to alt-country when he realized that (pick one) Uncle Tupelo, Gram Parsons, The Eagles, did the same schtick years ago.
-
Back on topic, any ideas when N2 tickets will be sold?

Completely uncalled for, I'm half tempted to delete this comment.

Yes, saw them at Arthur Fest. They played forever. It was so unbearable that I almost to punched the people next to me. Their songs sound the same and I couldn't even remember anything but endless riffs and riffs. So there.

Stick with what you know. Meg White is the perfect complement to Jack White. Their chemistry far exceeds any technical limitations of her playing,

really joe? i didnt think they'd ever played in california! thanks for clearing that up for me.

why would Tessie Brunet want to leave an awesome band for an average (white) band, you know, besides money

this forum would be way better if you were replaced with someone who wasnt such a know-it-all jerk.
-
hey, that's the festival i was talking about! i thought the black keys were excellent. did you catch sleater-kinney and sonic youth afterwards? sleater kinney was awesome. too bad about all the sound problems with sonic youth though. what was unbearable about that day was like the 1 hour wait in between bands. i'm never going to that festival again.

what is your fascination with california?
I don't even live there. If you are too jealous of californians, maybe you should move there and be one.

There was a sound problem all day on the main stage. I thought the festival was good overall but it was hard to get blown away by SK and SY on a festival setting but they were still good that day. DOS (Mike Watt + Kira) were amazing and so was Nora Keyes. I don't think they had that festival this year.
