this was released to rueters this morning: that bin laden has died due to typhoid fever.  interesting.  does that mean the disease gets the twenty-five million dollar reward?

There is one source, a leaked French intel report, which speculates that he might be dead.  But there certainly is no confirmation that it's true.
 
 If he did die, it's good the world is rid of his scourge, but it also means he got off far too easy.  He deserved to spend the rest of his days in general population of some notoriously harsh American prison.

I guess it would be good if it was true, even though it will ultimately make no difference whatsoever.

I think if they were rumoring him dead for election purposes, there would've been more fanfare... but yeah, I also think terror alerts are going to go through the roof.
