Title: Band name abbreviations

Good morning all.
 
 Could you please refrain from using abbreviations for band names in topic titles. Doing so would save me having to open a thread to see wether I give a rats arse or not.

But, what about bands like REM, UB40, TLC & U2?
 
 Should we have to write 'Rapid Eye Movement'?

For those of us who can't quite grasp the concept....if the abbreviation IS the band name...REM U2 INXS XTC UB40....it's not exactly an abbreviation is it now??    :roll:   I mean, how would you abbreviate and abbreviation?

But typing out Black Rebel Motorcycle Club exacerbates my carpal tunnel syndrome and having to bang out all of I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness makes my fingers gnarled.
