I am thinking that both of these ladies should come to DC in 2007!!! This would be good if the co-headlined. Anyone agree???
-
Sorry, need!
-
Go to Coachella.
-
I agree, but separate early shows in a sit down venue for this old lady.
-
This show has "Birchmere" written all over it.
-
Lily is moving to LA in February to promote the US release of "Alright Still", so expect to see and hear a lot more from her in the near future. Amy's album drops in March, so same goes for her. She's playing two small shows at Joes Pub in NYC next week, sold out of course!
-
Would definitely prefer separate shows.
-
Who said these two were even touring together?
-
I don't think anyone said that, and they ARE NOT touring together, if I'm not mistaken the original poster just had a train of thought of similiar British artists that will be releasing year old albums in the US will be doing some promotion behind them.
If Coachella won't work then head to Austin the middle of March, they'll both be there as well.

from today's washington post:
Alright! Lily Allen Comes to 9:30 Club
Don't you hate it when a non-American performer or band comes to the country for a few shows and skips the nation's capital? It seems wrong, and yet it seems like it happens quite often. Not this time, though. Delightfully foul-mouthed British pop star and Internet sensation Lily Allen will be hitting the states for a handful of shows next month, and one of those will be at the 9:30 club on Friday, Feb. 16. Tickets go on sale a week from today at the very reasonable price of $15.
If you haven't heard of Allen at this point, then you clearly don't spend much time reading about music online, because it seemed like she singlehandedly kept the MP3 blogging community busy and fawning for much of last year. Her debut album, "Alright, Still," which features catchy hits like the reggae-tinged "Smile" and the definitive summer jam of 2006, "LDN," hasn't officially been released in the States (that will happen on Jan. 30), but as we saw with Art Brut's album last year, we're hard pressed to find fans who haven't tracked it down in some form or another. It's well worth the effort, too, as much for its bouncy melodies as Allen's often hilarious putdowns of her ex-boyfriend. (That relationship serves as the inspiration for much of the album.) Allen's still a rookie when it comes to playing live, and reports from her first stateside shows a few months ago were mixed, but we're willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. Plus, she's a total babe.

Looks like an early show.
-
Baby, I'm in for Lily Allen!
Saw Amy Winehouse's video in Ireland -- she's a blast as well.
-
i'm seriously tempted to go see her. but does anyone know if she's good live?
-
MTV presents Lily Allen
If MTV is presenting it, you know it's quality stuff.
And $15 for someone who had put out one album, none in the USA...who will probably play no more than 40 mins,I don't think more than that should be charged...
-
She did play a 30 minute gig in NYC last year...

Was at her show in Chicago in October and really enjoyed it, even if it was way too short at only 35 minutes. She's working on some covers, so expect to hear sumptin' from The Specials and/or Kooks. Her rendition of "The Littlest Things" was amazing.

i really want to go. but i'm not sure whether to get my tickets now on line and pay the charges or risk them selling out by friday evening? (i'm going to the club tomorrow night for the Thursday show)
