Is anyone else going to the ACL Festival next weekend?
Not an overwhelming lineup, but very solid, especially with Beck apparently skipping DC on this tour.
If other people are going, it would be fun to see potential schedules and what conflicts you are trying to resolve, etc. I've got a few conflicts I'd love to get advice on.

yeah, Im going...I agree with the incredibly underwheming lineup, but its going to force me to experience more of the city, which is unbelievable...I am hitting up some aftershows though.. have two for the okkervill river show that I might not use... possibly interested?

I'll be there. Isn't Beck opposite of Plant/Krauss? I don't know how their set is going to translate to a festival atmosphere. But, in many years and hundreds of years of shows - their show at MPP was one of my top-5 of all time.
Beck tours much more regularly than I'd expect Plant/Krauss will. I'd really suggest checking out their set.
As far as my conflicts go... as different as they are, Patty Griffin and Gogol Bordello. But, with two Gogol shows at the club coming up, I may just have to go see Patty and wait until '09 for Gogol. Neko is opposite of Silversun. I haven't actually managed to see either to this point, as surprising as that is... I'll likely catch the start of Neko, then head over for the end of Silversun so I can be on the same end where Blues Traveler will be playing.
There aren't a ton of other real conflicts, for me. As much as I want to see Plant/Krauss again (hoping for When the Levee Breaks, as they played it on most of the rest of the tour, and not here) I'll likely spend the Black Keys set positioning myself for them, and may take in the Keys aftershow.

Yeah, Neko vs. Silversun Pickups is one of my big conflicts as well. Never seen either.
Fleet Foxes vs. Old 97s is also tough.
Also wondering if anyone has a suggestion for Del the Funky Homosapien vs. Jamie Lidell.
Patty Griffin vs. Gogol is a no-brainer for me. Patty is much more rare to see, Gogol tours all the time.
I wish I didn't know how great Plant/Krauss was now, my friends will all be at Beck, so I'd have to ditch everyone for that. Also, Beck appearances seem somewhat rare around these parts, espeically if you have kids and can't at a drop of a hat change your plans and wait in line at the Black Cat for 4 hours.

Definitely go with Jamie Lidell.

Thanks for the tip, I've never heard either of them, but have heard good things about both.

Both his most recent albums are must-hears if you like fun up-beat soul. His live sets are made up mostly of that with some songs going off on electronic improvisatory tangents. He's a great showman to boot.
