It still has DCCD listed and in Maryland, it's only listing Soundgarden. All the Virginia shops are in the southern part of the state.

I remember the IRD used to do promo giveaways at certain indie shops. When the Twilight Singers were still on Sony Columbia, they had a coupon on the site to get a free CD single.

I was thinking I could create a site where people could add stores and rate them, but it would take some time and I think there has to be somewhere out there that does that.  It would be useful for people looking for good places while travelling.

Just thinking the same (almost->) see if BigYawn can host a section for you...If not a rating system from readers, at least more up-to-date listings. Ratings could be by the author.

it would either be a stand alone site or part of my own site, but no time now, maybe at the end of the year

Huh. Looks like a trip to Canada is in order. Actually, I'm really excited to check out Twist & Shout in Denver.

I noticed no one talked about this store:

Well, considering the thread is called "Independent Record Store Directory," I'm not sure how it's relevant. There have been plenty of threads on Revolution Records in the past. For example, it was mentioned in the lengthy thread on where to find the Franz Ferdinand album.  :)

Plus, you can always submit the store (http://www.recordstorereview.com/cgi-bin/store?addStore=1) on the Record Store Review site.
