I saw on Joe Jackson's web site that he's comin to the 9:30 Club in April. Can anyone direct me to more info on this site? THX IN ADVANCE :)
-
Get on the 9:30 Clubs email list, they usually send out something Wednesday night and most shows go on sale Thursday morning.
-
At the Joe Jackson site the presale is on now.
-
did he sell out the club last time?
-
on sale 1/25 at tickets.com
I think he soldout last time, but it wasn't until the day of the show, or very close to it.
-
do not miss this show. the last one was incredible.
-
What does he play? Look Sharp is one of my all-time favorite albums. I'm the Man ain't too shabby neither. Night and Day -- not so crazy about.

honestly, i didn't know much of the material other than the obvious big hits. i can't tell you what he played, but i can tell you that it was a great show. it's rare for someone to catch my attention like that when i'm working and not familiar with much of their work.

I've seen Joe Jackson many times and it's always been a great show. If he's touring to promote an album expect to hear every song on that album. I saw him promote Blaze Of Glory and he walked on stage and announced he's going to sing the album from start to finish, so if you've come for a greatest hits concert.....tough.
I can imagine those who weren't big Jackson fans feeling somewhat disapointed with that concert.

GGW, thatguy, and Mankie all geeking out about the same artist. Sometimes I love this place.

This is a show I plan to hit. last time I saw JJ was during the Night and Day tour in Richmond at the Mosque. Fantastic show.
-
Like that's going to make people rush out in droves and buy the album...

I agree, it was a bit weird, but Blaze of Glory is a good album so I still enjoyed the show.

I also endorse this show wholeheartedly.I am like GGW in loving the 1st 3 and not really caring for Night and Day. However, I saw the Night and Day tour at the Merriweather and came away thoroughly pleased with the show. He didn't call his 2nd LP I'm the Man for nothin. He knows how to please a crowd.

Seen him a few times - always a great show. Was on the fence on this one, but all this boardie JJ love convinced me - got two on the presale. Does anyone know if he's still playing with his original band?
-
I've seen Joe six or seven times now and it's always a fine show - in any band configuration. I'll be there...
This tour has him with two of the three other original Joe Jackson band members -- Graham Maby on bass and Dave Houghton on drums -- no guitar.

Did Joe get in an argument with a whistler at the Merriweather show? That was a great evening, except for those awkward few moments. Joe said, "Nobody paid to hear your f'ing whistling," which of course brought out all of the drunk whistlers in the crowd.
Still a great show.
