That's all I ask. Thank you much!

I second, I second, I second that motion! I know you have to wait for them to actually go on tour, but just have to sing their praises whenever possible.

While you're at it, can you sort a Stranglers reunion concert please. Oh what the hell, get the Smiths as a double header for me...cheers Seth!

i was at the sloan show at the 9:30 last summer and as far as i can remember there was a decent turnout. although the band didnt think they put on too great a show. oh well. they rock anyway.

Was that Sloan as headliner, or Sloan opening for Pete Yorn. Now *that* was a funny show. Sloan was great, then Yorn came out with this "I'm a humble guy, but check out this rock star backlighting" crap going on..... I found it hysterical, and left after just enough songs to get a flavor for the insanity.

i was actually at both shows - when they opened for pete yorn may 2002 and then when they headlined july 2002. both times i was the girl dancing like crazy front and center during sloan. my friend and i moved to the back for pete yorn. sorry mister yorn. i was there for sloooan.

I was there for both shows as well. We were the group of five dancing madly and singing all the words about halfway back, both shows. During Yorn, a guy next to us leaned over and asked quietly, "who are these guys -- you five seem to be the only ones who know their stuff." He was quite surprised when told we were there to see them and not Yorn!

i was too at both shows... lasted 1.5 pete yawn songs.
my favorite bit of the sloan headlining show was the bit about chris telling the person who said all the sloan were great, there were a couple stinkers. great show! and they played "snowsuit sound" by special request
-
i was the one who requested "snowsuit sound." i saw them in philly a few days before and asked jay about it and reminded him again before the 9:30 show and they played it despite not practicing. that kicked ass.

Great to find some Sloan fans. They do in fact rock! They are on tour this summer, at least in Canada I think.
Seth, now that I've got Sloan in your mind, how about Marah? They are playing on the EastCoast again, opening for the DBT in Philly and playing in NYC over the summer.
Are they a big enough band for the club? Saw them open for Steve Earle a few years ago, thought they were great. They may be an Iota/Black Cat size show if they are headlining though.
