Anybody else going to the sold out NASCAR race in Martinsville, VA on Sunday? Man, this should be a good one.
Can Jeffy threerepeat? Can Rusty snap his skid? Can Sadler win back to back races? Will Morgan Shephard be sponsored by Racing for Jesus? Can Mikey Waltrip finish a race without crashing? Can one of the scrubs filling out the field run more than ten laps?

Sorry, Rhett, I'm saving myself for Fontana on May 2.
Looking forward to the race though.

Can't remember, is this your first race? I think you had said you had been to a road race before?
We had some thoughts of going to Lowes for the 600 Memorial Day Weekend, but Martinsville is just more feasible. Plus, I love the short track racing.

Wow - good memory. I have been to Sears Point and will be going back this June (it's about a half hour away from the new abode).
But Fontucky will be my first oval track. Better yet, I will be on the infield in a motorhome for the weekend (but I will miss most of the Busch race for Coachella). Despite enjoying the entire NASCAR experience in the infield, I would prefer a short track to the 2-mile oval anyday.

Sweet. Sounds like you're doing it the right way.
But I wonder if you'll get the whole redneck experience out there, with rednecks in the mens room saying they want to kill that faggot Jeff Gordon and his faggot buddy Jimmie Johnson.
But my favorite memory is the redneck Jarrett fan who was wandering the parking lot after the race, stumbling along so drunk that he finally collapsed and landed flat on his face near our car, and right next to a police officer who cuffed him and dragged him away. Classic.

I like the guys with the "F.A.G. (Fans Against Gordon") stickers. Ummm...You do realize you're calling yourself a F.A.G. right?

Nothing like leaving the little plastic world of DC to realize that homophobia is alive and well in America...

It is alive and well in DC as well, try and listen in to some of the conversations of the people who go out in Adams Morgan on the weekend, or go to hfstival.com.

Martinsville, no, but Richmond Yes!!!! Second Richmond should be a treat as things are getting close to the cut-off.
Last year at Richmond there were folks selling scalper tickets outside for $20, I may just go that way this year.
