Never a good sign when the rest of the band 're-forms' without just you.... Maybe Perry and Axl should hook up and get somethin' goin'.

It's been a rough week for Perry Farrell. First, this summer's edition of the Lollapalooza tour, which he founded and organized, is scrapped due to poor ticket sales. And now, his recently reunited band, the seminal Jane's Addiction, is splitting, this time apparently for good. So wrote Jane's guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Chris Chaney in a post on Navarro's website this week, saying, ''It simply didn't work out. In all honesty, we have broken up and rejoined roughly four times over the years. Perhaps that should shed some light as to where we are now.'' Where they are now: forming a new quartet with a frontman who is not Farrell.
Jane's Addiction regrouped in 2001, after a long hiatus. Last summer, they released ''Strays,'' their first album in more than a decade, selling a modest 360,000 copies, and last year toured as headliners of Lollapalooza. ''We really gave it everything we had this time and we actually made a really great record after so many years of silence,'' Navarro, Perkins, and Chaney wrote. As for why their reunion didn't last, they cited ''so many reasons. Some of them over 15 years old, some of them new and none of them worth mentioning. Maybe we are just a volatile combination. Maybe that is why we were so great. Sometimes the best creative relationships are the most combustible and they aren't meant to last forever."
Billboard reports that the three musicians have started a new, still-unnamed band with Steve Isaacs, singer for L.A. rockers Skycycle, and that they've begun recording with producer Danny Saber, who worked with Navarro on his 2001 release ''Trust No One.'' In a statement on his own website, Isaacs insisted that he was not just replacing Farrell as Jane's lead singer but fronting a new band. ''Dave, Stephen, and Chris and I are just taking some time to do what is the most fun thing in the world to do -- make music and write songs,'' he wrote.

Saw Jane's Addiction at Pier 17 last night and it was a trainwreck. Perry was on another planet. Forgetting words, mumbling, singing the chorus during the verse, wandering off stage for long periods. The band sounded tight AF and Dave looked super pissed. Felt like each song was gonna be the one they threw in the towel on. Really sad way to see one of my all-time fav bands for the last time.

For all that didn’t read my link Perry is angry the music is too loud and he is having trouble singing over it.
It’s amazing that they can’t keep it together for a short tour. Kind of bummed I couldn’t use my ticket got Portsmouth as I now don’t see a second leg.
