Rock on, Josey. Rock the fuck on...
"I don't think American kids are really into it," [Saliva singer Josey Scott] said, citing the Vines and Strokes as examples. "American kids wanna get in the mosh pit. They wanna get dirty. Chicks wanna show their t--s. They wanna rock. They want something that kicks ass, and the Strokes and all that sh-- ain't gettin' it done. I'm not trying to cut them down, I'm just saying you gotta get the job done, man. When you walk onstage, you gotta get the job done. You gotta rock the f---in' party, and they don't do it. They never have and they never will."
"I was at the VMAs and walked by the singer for the Strokes," Scott explained, "and I give everybody their day in court, so I said, 'What's up?' to him, and he looked at me and sort of goes, 'Hmmph.' He's just lucky my girl's son was with me, I would've broken his jaw. Whatever. F--- him."

Who is Saliva? Flawd, do I need your expertise here?
Let me guess: They have a new album coming out or about to embark on a tour, right? Nothing like a little press time...

I've heard of them, don't know what they sing though but they've been around a couple of years.

i think he is the guy who did the song with the guy from nickelback for the first spiderman movie
-
Yep, that's him. His band does the "Click Click Boom" song.

Right. He also complains about only getting $5,000 for his work on that song. Dude, it sucked, and was a blatant rip off of Seal's "Kiss by a Rose" from that one Batman movie, which sucked to begin with.

For some reason, I have their cd. Never opened in over a year. (it's in the listen-to-and-get-rid-of pile.)

His band, Saliva, has a new single called Survival Of The Sickest. It's the title of their new album that's due out August 17th. The new single kicks a$$.

Gotta say I hate the macho guy thing even more than I hate the snobby hipster thing.
Any supposed grownup who talks about beating a guy up because he snubbed him is a total idiot if you ask me. Get over it, or just go back to high school.

Ssshhhhh...what's the sound? Oh, it's RonniStar's indie cred flying out the fucking window ;)

Don't look for the band to tour any Virginia concert venues. ;)
Saliva Guitarist likes 'em young (http://www.ticic.state.tn.us//SEX_ofndr/result_button_sor.asp?var1=269121)

I walked into Tower Records one day and they were doing an "acoustic in-store". I swiftly purchased my CD (not a Saliva CD) and left. Their music is appauling IMO. If this quote was out there back then I would have bought a Strokes single and asked them to sign it. :D

Yeah personally I think they're pretty awful.

i am not a fan but i agree with what he said. i saw them at chili cookoff the other year and thought they suck...i wanted them to leave and for cold to comeout for a couple more songs...
