"Renegade" and "Blue Collar Man" by Styx are guilty pleasures. "lady", or any other Styx song that Dennis DeYoung sang lead on, is beyond bad.

Just got the  Freaks and Geeks DVD box. The first ep, "Pilot," uses "Come Sail Away" in a way that is nothing short of brilliant. For those unfamiliar with the tune it presents a very funny (and painful) plot twist and for the rest of us gasp-inducing foreshadowing. Even the sappy lyrics just before the twist are perfectly poignant.

The ep also has a few lines of "Renegade."

KC and the Sunshine Band?

According to Rob Gee, a better band than the Clash and the Pogues, combined.

YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!

Didnā??t know what time it was the lights were low oh how
I leaned back on my radio oh oh
Some cat was layinā?? down some rock ā??nā?? roll ā??lotta soul, he said
Then the loud sound did seem to fade a ade
Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase ha hase
That werenā??t no d.j. that was hazy cosmic jive

Thereā??s a starman waiting in the sky
Heā??d like to come and meet us
But he thinks heā??d blow our minds
Thereā??s a starman waiting in the sky
Heā??s told us not to blow it
Cause he knows itā??s all worthwhile
 He told me:
 Let the children lose it
 Let the children use it
 Let all the children boogie

I had to phone someone so I picked on you ho ho
Hey, thatā??s far out so you heard him too! o o
Switch on the tv we may pick him up on channel two
Look out your window I can see his light a ight
If we can sparkle he may land tonight a ight
Donā??t tell your poppa or heā??ll get us locked up in fright

Thereā??s a starman waiting in the sky
Heā??d like to come and meet us
But he thinks heā??d blow our minds
Thereā??s a starman waiting in the sky
Heā??s told us not to blow it

Coldplay - Fix you!!!  :o

Have you ever been to a concert and it's so bad you actually feel embarrassed for the artist, and actually blush for them? Well that's how I feel for Chris Martin when I hear this song.

He just doesn't have the voice for hymn-like songs, bless him.

As usual, I went to the gym at lunch today.

Was surprised to hear Big Star's "September Girls" sandwiched between Styx and the Dead.
