Title: Velvet Revolver
Post by: Arthwys on April 16, 2004, 11:44:00 pm
Coming to 9:30 club according to their website!  This'll be the closest I'll ever get to seein' the old GNR i'm sure.  Anyone else excited to check out this strange but cool combo of STP and GNR?

So when are tickets on sale?  Hope they can avoid any "issues" with the law long enough to make it out here.

Oh lord...we heard this band on a "classic rock" station whilst on a road trip this past weekend. Someone please explain to me the appeal...

I was a huge GNR fan growing up, so Iā??ll probably go to check out Duff ā??the king of beersā? McKagan & Slash.   I could do without Scott Weiland though.

Super excited to see Slash (and Duff) play live in a small venue.  Don't have much faith in the new stuff (but could be wrong) but at their show in LA last year they played some GNR.

As predicted....if you need the password, email List_Serve@930.com to sign up for the newsletter.

 Secret VELVET REVOLVER Presale

Who needs Axl when you have a supergroup with Scott Weiland, Slash, Duff McKagen, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner? Velvet Revolver are gearing up for their first ever live tour in support of the highly anticipated release of their new album, Contraband.

Don't miss the presale! Getting tickets to this show will be harder than obtaining a copy of Chinese Democracy.

 VELVET REVOLVER
 May 27
Presale begins Wednesday, April 21 from 10am-10pm.

Apparently, it's never too early to list tickets on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=16122&item=2239904878&rd=1)

The pre-sale sold out in 2 minutes.  I've never had to get tickets for a show at 9:30 thats in this high demand.  Anyone with experience want to wager a guess on how long it will take tomorrow to sell out?

I'm mildly curious to check it out, but I'm really not sure what this would be like. "Appetite for Destruction" is just one of those classic rock'n'roll records, whether you hate metal or not. Funny thing is that I never thought of G-n-R as metal...just a rock'n'roll band. I thought their music was a lot more honest than some of the 80's hair metal stuff. But I don't know if I'd be that stoked to see a show that COULD be a class Roses line-up and isn't. I hope the people that go will have fun and tell us what it was like. That's good enough for me.

I predict it'll appear to sell out in about 2 minutes, then tickets will pop-up again at about 10:05.  It'll really be sold out by 10:10.

Haha, this is the Darkness all over again.  As per happened with them, the tickets will go on sale at 10, and every single one will be "put on hold" for 5 minutes to give time to these people to put in their credit card info etc.  Some people won't do it in time, hence tickets being available 5 after, then 10 after the hour.  Some odd tickets will resurface as much as a half hour after going on sale, due to people's credit cards being denied and such.  My advice....keep clicking away for at least 20 minutes if you want to get a ticket.

Well, it's 10:04 and i've got a ticket, how'd everyone else fare? On a whim i tried clicking for another ticket, and I get that infamous "sorry can't get you that now" line.

I got one at 10:10, and another one at 10:25.  A pain, especially since I got charged for shipping twice, but what else are you gonna do.
