some of these are interesting

Hootie can still ask for 100k?
15k for a personal appearance by Jack Osbourne?
Marilyn Manson only 15-25k, while Cake are 50k?
 Oasis 'No Schools'!
Puddle of Mudd 75k versus QOTSA 50k????

Aren't her fans typically white upper middle class pseudo hippie bisexual liberal girls, and their poor little subservient boyfriends?

Ani still has fans? She came to my college Freshman year and was disgraceful. Fortunately later that year we had Dylan and it evened things out a bit.

i wasn't refering to you...or anyone specific really. she obviously evokes strong feelings, as evidenced by your snide stereotyping of her fans. thus, it shouldn't be a surprise that she's still around, especially with her fairly prolific output. my point is she seems expensive

I love how liberals still buy into her "DIY artiste" facade -- to the tune of $38 per ticket and $50k per performance.

this is the truth. one of the best parts of being an indie fan is you get to be a cheap bastard. thus, she does not get my money. i won't pay $40 to see (say) the white stripes either, though

Could be. If I really wanted to listen to her bitch and moan though, I could just drive up to Williamsburg in Brooklyn (or Takoma Park, for that matter), and have someone on the street bitch at me for free. They might even have a better band....

one of the parks in london has all of these guys that get up on boxes and yell about the government. quite a sight to see

But doesn't Ani publish all her own records on her own record label?  That would be the definition of D.I.Y., wouldn't it?

I'd never go see her, but that's because I don't like her.  Don't see how ticket prices nullify her process...

yes, it is true she puts everything out herself, and that is a do-it yourself mentality...but more of the expensive prince diy than the cheap black flag/fugazi diy. i mean, even her merch is absurdly priced.

i personally think keeping prices low so people can come see you is pretty important. guess that makes me a populist, not a liberal

Speakers Corner in Hyde Park.

It's what's known as "Free Speach". You doodles used to have it before Mein Fuhrer Ashcroft came to power under the Bush dictatorship.

If your statement was accurate, then you wouldn't have been able to say what you just said, would you?

Well, the Eletric Maid Community Exchange just re-opened yesterday. They will have bands performing there, including punk bands on Friday and Saturday nights.
