Reminds me of the story I used to hear (that was also sent to me this morning again) about the lights above the dugouts that would be switched on if the IRA made a bomb threat at Old Trafford. Nobody would leave, and Mankie and everyone else in the Stretford End would start singing "We're gonna get our fucking heads blown off!".
Funny at the time....not so much now though

We also sang "We shall not, we shall not be moved"! Seems stupid now, but I guess you had to be there to appreciate the moment. Besides, most Irish are United fans so I doubt they would've bombed the red devils anyway.
Regardless of what Townsend says, they have dramatically stepped up security at Old Trafford, so there is some truth to the story....Townsend wants the 70k+ fans to show up for the game so of course he's going to down-play the threat.
First the damn Germans, then the fuckers in the IRA now these twats!!! What is it with Manchester and bombings? My money is on Shitty fans doing it before they head of down to the first division.. ;)
