If Geffen, or who ever owns them now, were smart they would give this record the "deluxe" reissue treatment. i.e b-sides, demos, whatever... Minus of course tracks 13-89. It could do better now then it did when it first came out.
I will fully admit being disappointed in this record when it came out in part because of having to wait for so long and it not being quite what I expected. But listening to it today the record is standing the test of time better than some. Sure the songs aren't as strong as the debut and the guitar work has a harder bluesy edged. But seeing the number of new English bands trying their hands at a similiar sound and coming up empty, one could say the Stone Roses were visionaries on this one.
It also occured to me what a mental tour this could be
Paul Weller
The Stone Roses
Brian Jonestown Massacre
w/ DJ Bobby Gillespie

I though this was going to be about Luis Palau's festival on the Mall.

Toss in The Vines and Babyshambles and have it sponsored by some mass marketed pharmaceutical company that pushes crap like SSRIs and Ritalin.
