Anyone go to the show last night? How was it?
-
A weekend at Intonation wasn't enough for me. After a couple of days of uber-hip, indier than thou music, I decided to check out T&S. I had never heard any of their stuff but at $15, it seemed like a safe bet.
The show started out well - I was enjoying their brand of safe, inoffensive alt-folk-pop - but after awhile, I found that one song sounded too much like the other. Don't get me wrong. They're very charming and talented. I just wished for a bit more variety.
I don't regret going to the show - but I doubt I'll catch them again or buy their CDs.

i was at q and not u instead of t&s, but...i had the same reaction the first cd i heard of theirs.
"wait, didn't i just listen to this song?!"
after a few more listens, you'll be able to distinguish.

I enjoyed it...but, I know the last two albums backward and forward. I find something really catchy in each song. I can see folks not loving them, I enjoy them.
And it was super nice to be at a show that wasn't sold out, though I'd put it at about 85% capacity (good for them, as they just played at Iota for about 100 people late last November). Nice short crowd, too.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed the height difference. I'm 5'11" (or so) and could see over pretty much everyone.

see, my guess is that it was mostly late teens - 20something girls who have outgrown the lillith fair scene and recently discovered "indie pop" like the postal service and tegan and sara ... hence the short crowd
