Someone talks to the drummer of some band, who in turn says that they're playing at the club, and then this person comes to a message board to ask if this is true. "insert band name here" sucks, is a statement that I wouldn't make unless there was some validity behind it. You'll also notice that if you look at past posts, these types of rants come about when someone is defending a shit band like they're getting their cock sucked by the lead singer. CkY, like I said is a bar band, at best. They were nothing before the promotion erupted over the pre-jackass CkY tapes. go to a used CD store and see how many of those coasters sit next to the rest of the crap rock piled there. I was in kemp mill the other day, and some kid was trying to trade it, and they wouldn't even take it! I've seen them live and heard their disc, it's mediocre at best. So get over it. Every once in a great while they will say they "have no idea", but for the most part they tell you they'll be back at one time or another. Sometimes they give you a month and sometimes they give you an exact date.My point is that almost 90% percent of the time they have no idea what they're talking about. Unless they have a tour manager who lets them know exactly when they're returning, it's usually a shot in the dark. So most of the time I ask one of my managers or the person who books the shows if the date I was told is correct or not. I like to get a heads up on when the bands I like will be back.All this brings me back to the original post here. Someone claims they spoke with a band member who told them they were coming back to 9:30. That person then came to the forum to see if they could get some type of confirmation. I don't see the problem here. The original post didn't read as being overly boastful. In fact it seemed rather benign.Anyway, like I wrote this is just my two cents. It didn't seem called for to jump down the throat of this person for the original post.To the original poster and defenders of CKY:On a separate note, if you have a problem with people giving you hell for your personal taste in music, this probably isn't the place to post. We have a huge number of self proclaimed music critics here who have no problem busting your chops if you don't listen to what they listen to. You can't be thin skinned here.

And: CKY is headlining their own tour. THEY ARE NOT OPENING FOR ANYBODY. They were opening for GnR but since that got cancelled they are now doing their own tour.

Look at it this way, they re-made the first two Ozzy solo albums to take off the original bassist and drummer for royalty reasons! They charge 50-70 thousand to get an opening slot on the Ozz-fest tour. These don't sound like people who would give out permission, they sound like people who would charge a butt-load to use the font.
