Will be called The Wolf!
Am I the first to know that? Hold the bandwagon up for the old bloke!
-
If you have got a bandwagon I wanna be on it....
Ahh, that will be a great leap forward.
I did not know that it will be called wolf. I did know that there is something coming out next month with a DVD and a couple of new tracks.....
I am looking forward to partying hard this Autumn.
-
And I'm sure the songs will be completely different from each other...like his current album.
-
But you like T-Rex dont you Mankie? All their songs sound the same too.

That's a joke...right? If not you need to invest in a greatest hits or something.

Totally awesome. I just bought the Electric Six and Datsuns album (and the new Mogwai and Pet Shop Boys - Actually). So this news made my day. Stupid rock will never die.
-
dont knock T-Rex, by all the songs sound the same do you mean brilliant.

I think much of T-Rex's repetoire is irritating, but being a music fan is about picking that which irritates the least.

grrrrrr
-
No, I love T-rex but their songs are all very similar sounding. That was the bands major flaw.
-
I beg to differ sir!!
"Deborah" sounds nothing like "Jeepster" which sounds nothing like "Ride a white swan" which sounds nothing like "Children of the revolution" which sounds nothing like "Twenty century boy" which sounds nothing like "born to boogie" which does sound like "I love to boogie" which does sound like "Solid gold easy action."
A couple sound similar but to say all their songs sound the same is a huge exageration.
Anyway...didn't Superdrag or some band totally rip-off T-Rex, and you all got moist over those for their 15 minutes?
-
Errr superdrag, or supergrass.....
the later I guess sound more like T-rex than the former, but still not at all like T-rex.
Cant think anyone that is really T-rex like, perhaps Bowie and his followers Suede?
I like t-rex, but when a T-rex song comes on the radio there is not a moments doubt in my mind its a T-rex song, even if its a more obscure song I have only heard once or twice.
I think jeepster does sound like ride a white swan and so on, just at different speeds.

That's why I said "or some band"...
...seems not only do they all sound the same, they all have names the bloody same!

btw, the wolf comes out on september 9.
the dvd, called "tear it up" will be out on july 15. it contains all his videos, some live stuff and 2 new songs (neither of which contains the word "party" in the title).

To quote one of the great thinkers of our time...okay, the past week!

That policy seems to have worked well for GBV from what I'm told!
Actually, not too many artists can get away with changing musical direction every album and produce quality everytime....Bowie would be the exception.
Anyway, what's so wrong in finding your 'niche' and sticking with it?
