Who is going? I'll be there with at least a couple of people, maybe more, that I actually met some other way than on a chatboard. If any of y'all chatboard folks see us, be sure to say hi.
And don't tell Mankie how much I paid for my ticket.

I will be there. Looking forward to it.

Hey Jadetree...has that Slobberbone cd you bought grown on you? And if I buy you a drink the next time we're all out, could you maybe make me a copy of it? Or I could trade a copy of something for it...

I can make you a copy of it, haven't actually returned to it a lot, perhaps I should soon. I believe you also wanted the second Beulah album (When Your Heartstrings Break), no longer need Handsome Western States as I found it used at DCCD. I will make copies of both, maybe by tomorrow, not sure if I will have time. I'll trade you for a copy of the Slobberbone album you said was much better than Slippage.

Yes, both of those two would be excellent.
I'll come up with a second pick for you...I'll try to think of something you might not have (good luck, right?) and would like.
No biggie if it's not by tomorrow night. Might not even see each other...I've often had difficulty finding folks at 9:30 shows.

damn newbies!
Doors Open 7:30
Carla Werner 8:15-8:45
The Thorns 9:00-9:45
The Jayhawks 10:15

They were pretty decent. I think I prefer them better on disc than live though.
In comparison to other recent shows: not as good as Slobberbone or the Pernice Brothers, but better than Drive By Truckers.

I don't think last nights show was as good as either of the last two acoustic shows at the birchmere. Some of the songs were drowned out by the too loud guitars and drum kit. I could not see the drum kit from my vantage point but it sounded like a full one, where as at the acoustic shows Tim just had a 3 pieces. Songs like Trouble, Haywire and Somewhere in Ohio benefitted from being plugged in but most of their set did not,. That being said I did enjoy myself and enjoyed the George Harrison cover at the end.
The Thorns were awful, I thought they would break in to Sister Goldenhair at any minute.
-
agreed, RHett...
now, who will rescue Matthew Sweet from the Thorns?
-
What was the name of that band? Did they ever tell us? The frat boy, the grunge boy, and Matthew Sweet?
-
Well, after reading your reviews of the show, I don't feel bad about missing it.
-
Glad I saw them, and it was a fun night out, but don't think I'd pay $25 to see them again. Maybe $10.

Well Shawn Mullins is really shy, it would be great for the band if he could overcome his disability to say the bands name more, but 4 times between each song was a great start.
-
Jadetree, how many times i gotta tell you the guy on the right who said the bands name 50 times was pete droge not shawn mullins. i know they are pretty much interchangeably irrelevant, but c'mon, I'm sure their moms can tell them apart...so we should try to do so as well
