in the latest 930 club email newsletter, it says, under other IMP events
Underworld presents Starscape on June 18th
its really Ultraworld. the band Underworld, is neither sponsering nor playing at the event.
Rabbit In the Moon is however. and $70 will get you AND your friend in to this show.

*Also* not that anyone cares but...
the $35 tickets seem to be sold out - there were only 500 at that price. BUT you can just go to DJ Hut and buy tickets there for $40 and avoid the ticketmaster fees, which works out to about the same.

we shouldnt be saying, "not that anyone cares" Starscape is a great annual event, well organized and is a lot of fun , year in and year out.
:)

speaking of such events did you see the lineup for the Fuse-In festival in Detroit this weekend?
Live performances from Model 500 and UR with Blake Baxter, Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson, Stacey Pullen,etc... In the wake of Kraftwerk's re-emergence it too bad that can't take some of these acts on the road.

Well, not that anyone cares but... you started it with the 'not that anyone cares!' ;)
I for one am actually going to be there...not ashamed of the fact that I'm also a big dance music fan...it's a pretty good lineup for the price... and i find ravers generally far less annoying than the 'other' festival crowds.

I was considering going so I care about the tips! I noticed the Underworld announcement but didn't think to confuse it with my beloved band.

Rabbit in the Moon puts on one of the best live performance of almost any band/act/people on stage that i have ever seen.
top 5 definitely.
and the party is 15 minutes from my house, which sorta rocks.

I agree, but $40 is a bit steep when Buzzlife books them AT LEAST once a year for $15, Nation's setup be damned.

are you sure its only $15 to get into Cubik (or whatever they call it now). I thought they'd raised it to $20 like 3 years ago.
Also, Starscape is much more than a club. and being outside, the dancing "real estate" isnt quite so precious.
an Ultraworld party should not be compared to Nation, ever. :)

if you were ever going to go to a "rave" or "party" or whatever, starscape is the one to go to. no question. even those pacifier suckin' PLUR freaks won't get to you. now that's sayin' something. do those folks even exist anymore?

I think it depends on the particular show. Even if it's $20 now, you can get on their reduced price list by posting on their message board like 5 times in the week before the show.
I saw RITM there Dec. 03 (I think) and I know I paid $15. Same for Crystal Method around the same time.

I'd beg to differ... around DC *maybe*... but this (http://www.ultramusicfestival.us/) was pretty much unbeatable this year, if you're able to get down to Miami... and tickets were only $35 when I bought mine.
Also, Whistle in Philly is worth checking out if they do that again this year...the PLUR definitely exists at that one though!

Whistle is awful in comparison to Starscape
and sure, there are better parties, that are like elsewhere. but as far as around here.
Whistle is cool if you want to go to Jersey (cause thats where it was the 3 times i went) and jam pack yourself into a filthy Expo Center that looks like a parking garage, buy $3 bottles of water and some fake drugs that security or cops will try to find on you every time they see you reach into your pocket, hear deafeningly loud music with so many strobe lights going on at once that you barely noticed that the chick next to you thats rolling on 8 E pills just threw up on your shoes....while your taking a piss in the bathroom
or has it changed since 1999?

I've only been once which was last year... was just outside Philly, half inside and half outside of some club. I thought they did a really good job with it...very well organized. Kinda hardcore/happy hardcore oriented so not really my thing... but a good time nonetheless.
Sorry about your shoes though.

No no no. The name of the BAND was wrong. He's not telling you that it's "Doves, not The Doves"

listen here, blondie!
i was just trying to help out. cause if you werent knowledgable about "Ultraworld" you may think that "Underworld" was playing at this event, then you would be sad when you find out that its just a little bald guy's production company.
