Title: Bjork in NYC - Roll Call
Post by: Firebutt McGee on April 23, 2007, 05:44:00 pm
Anybody going to any of the 3 shows in NYC?

Count me in for all three plus Denver/San Fran.

And yeah, I know it's next Wednesday, but still...excitement is taking OVER!

I was at the United Palace show. Fucking amazing. How did it compare to the other shows?

Why isn't this moving to the first page?

Edit: now it moved. Didn't do it with the previous post. Weird...

I liked the United Palace show better (small venue, better seat + the guests in the show). The duet with Antony and Min Xiao-Fen plucking the hell out of that pipa were definite highlights.

Arcade Fire was RIDICULOUS!!!

They didn't do "Wake Up", but they did do MOST of Neon Bible and the show was phenomenal as usual!

I just have good ticket karma, I guess! I've been doing this for YEARS, so I think I know how to hit the good ticket lottery!

If you were a brooklynvegan (www.brooklynvegan.com) reader, you'd know that they released great seats yesterday morning for both United Palace shows  :)

yes thanks for the update. i also had an email from bowery presents also telling me there were tickets available at the door for that show. and i really wasnt up to wandering washington heights by my lonesome hoping for a ticket. granted ive never been to washington heights, so it might be a great safe neighborhood, but i wasnt about to go see.

and i read brooklynvegan when i can. i got a little disturbed when my pic kept showing up at the website at all the same shows. a friend kindly pointed me out everytime he saw me in a pic.

I'm not based in NYC, I live blocks from the 9:30 club! I'm just a frequent rider of the Chinatown bus/from Brooklyn. (Hence the name: I-escaped-Brooklyn, i-xkpd-bk)

But yah! I'm not going to the AF show at Radio City tonight, but I expect it to be amazing! Instead I'll be catching the Air show. CANT. WAIT.

(I'll totally wear a "Why Free Paris Hilton" shirt if I can find a "Free Paris Hilton" shirt!)

Wellllllllllllllllll...

I came to work on Monday, then left half-day to get the bus up to catch AF. Took off on Tuesday, and went to Bjork yesterday. Got the Chinatown bus back this morning.

Oh, and the show was PHENOMENAL (as expected), Jonas Sen (her keyboardist/pianist) gave me his setlist for the night. I just scanned it in, enjoy!

Here's some of the better pics I snapped from the 5th row at the SF show!

 Just...mindblowing.

Just this tour  :)  You really can't compare with the previous tours because they're all different.

Best Show of Tour: San Francisco
2nd Best: Denver (this was the more FUN of the 5 shows)
 3rd: Apollo
 4th: United Palace
 5th: Radio City

Seriously, she just got BETTER and BETTER with this tour. Every show got continuously better, the setlists changed ALL the time, and she was just getting more and more comfortable/playful with the audience as the shows went on.
