Amen! I would kneel before him, too.

Hillary (http://www.senate.gov/~clinton/news/statements/details.cfm?id=270971) just went up a few points in my book.

We don't even know who the candidates will be.
-
WE have a general idea. Don't be a sourpuss.
Mitt Romney v. Obama-lama-ding-dong.
How could anyone vote for a guy named Mitt? He should change it to Norm. Or Earl. Anything but Mit.
-
But Guiliani and Clinton lead in the polls right now.
That being said, I think Mitt will be our next president, though I wouldn't vote for him.

Why take time out to vote, it's not like our vote matters.....just leave it up to the Supreme Court to sort it out again.

He would be my pick, or perhaps Edwards. But given that I'm not a registered Democrat, I don't think he will be an option for me in the general election.

All I know is that if Hillary Clinton is the Democratic Candidate, I am going to abstain from voting in the presidential election. I think she is terrible.

Can we write in Bill Clinton?

Don't you live in Virginia? We don't register with political parties in the Commonwealth.
-
Hard to say. Of course Dennis Kucinich if he had a chance. But no one want's to 'throw their vote away'; so maybe Joe Biden. But this is why we should have instant runoff elections (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting) like Australia nd Ireland. That way, your vote is never thrown away. You could vote for Dennis Kucinich or whoever, but you also say who your second choice is. So when Dennis fails just counting everyone's first choice, they count again using your second choice.

Stop calling it a commonwealth, that's just retarded, not to mention totally gay.

get ready to abstain! i dont think there's any way she doesnt get it.

It would be tough for the Dems to lose in 2008 (though I'm confident they will), but picking her would be a good step towards doing just that.

If he wins we'll get to see a lot more of his hot wife (http://www.redkingpix.com/cgi-bin/ImageFolio4/imageFolio.cgi?action=view&link=Celebrities&image=042906Thompson.jpg&img=0&search=Jeri%20Kehn&cat=all&tt=&bool=phrase)! Maybe she'll do a spread in Penthouse? I'd buy that for a dollar.

The mainstream press is terrible at picking frontrunners. They presume she's the one but she has no momentum and very high negatives. Edwards and Obama are still gaining and either one can easily beat Clinton.
And keep this in mind: in April 1991, Bill Clinton was an unknown outside of Arkansas.

If the dems really want to lose they should front a black, woman, muslim.
-
Do you really think Obama has a hope in hell??? Call me wild and wacky but I don't think America is ready for a muslim leader.
Can we write in Imus?

Ron Paul is my man.
As much as I hate doing it, I'll have to change my party affiliation, yet again, just so I can vote for him in the primary. Right now, I'm a card carrying Independent because I equally loathe and mistrust both major parties but sometimes you've got to do what you've got to do. Essentially, the same thing that Mr. Paul did just to get some real votes. One of those things where if you can't beat them, join them all just to (hopefully) beat them at their own game.

I look for Richardson to end up as the VP candidate for either Hillary or Edwards. Richardson has been close to the Clintons for years. However,if Edwards gets the nod, he'd be a fool not to accept a VP position.

Heart: Kucinich
Head: Richardson

Something tells me he was trying to be sarcastic, or he was joking. It's hard to tell around here sometimes, though. >_>

I used to be a registered Independent, but I just switched to Democrat last month when I renewed my driver's license so I can vote in the primary next year. I don't really like the idea of being a registered member of either major party, either, but since I am far more Democratic than Republican, I decided to choose the lesser of two evils in exchange for a voice in the candidate I'll probably end up voting for anyway.
I really thought that the Republicans had a shot at nominating a decent candidate this time around, one that might actually get my vote. They're all going to hell in a handbasket, though. I used to like McCain (and probably would have voted for him in 2000, because I really didn't care for Gore...as it was, I didn't vote), but I don't know what the hell to make of him anymore. And Giuliani has been pissing me off recently. So the Republicans are pretty much out of it for me.
The Dems have some interesting candidates, they really do, which I'll admit is a bit surprising. Hillary scares me, first of all, there's just something about her that I really don't like. If she's nominated, I don't know what the hell I'm going to do, as I've already said the Republicans have pretty much lost me already. Obama, on the other hand, I think is brilliant. I'm just not really sure whether he's ready to be President or not, though. I also really like Bill Richardson. Edwards is okay, too, I guess. Basically, I'd cast a vote for Obama, Richardson, or Edwards if one of them gets the nomination, but my primary vote will probably be between Obama and Richardson.
-
I dislike any candidates so far. I've voted for Nader in 2000 and Kucinich in 2004. (I lived in Kansas, which was always republican, and North Carolina) so since the Electoral college is not only heavily flawed but fucked up I voted where I thought I should. I will probably write in Kucinich again if he isn't on the ballot, because as per normal most of my platforms I give a shit about aren't really addressed to my liking (Health Care for people like myself who fall through the cracks, Student Loans/College payment, Animal Welfare/abuse/neglect, Public Libraries).
Still trying to get a job with DNC, though, and I'm a registered Dem.

Yes, I was indeed being sarcastic, and I tried to reinforce that with my Imus comment?
I don't care if he's muslim (well I do) but what makes him worse is he's a smoker, and I could never vote for a stinky smoker! (sarcasm alert)

I wouldn't vote for a smoker. If he can't make good decisions on a no-brainer like that, how can I trust that he'll make good decisions on other issues?

I'm just wondering...it a black president is elected, who the hell are they going to blame for their woes? ;)
*disclaimer* the previous comment was solely meant as a non-pc joke and not a racist remark so I would like to apologize in advance to people of any race, religion, sex or orientation who may have been offended by my previous comment. please explain, including your response to federalist 68.

The electoral college does not vote along the actual party line that is established by the popular vote, therefore it is flawed. i've been up about 22 hours too many at this point otherwise i'd go into it more. That is my large beef at the moment with it and has been for years.
re: 68:
A small number of persons, selected by their fellow-citizens from the general mass, will be most likely to possess the information and discernment requisite to such complicated investigations.
Couldn't tell you the name of any of my electors, ever, that's a good flaw for the start. lol...

Politicians aren't statesmen anymore. They are marketers. The product is them and they don't dare flinch without first consulting several focus groups.
